It is a tough call sometimes... I have had on the odd person who i was not sure about with regards to character, if they did a good job but were real knobs then no way would i have them on again Don't tend to fall out with many folk but there are some who i would never have the time of day for and that will keep away from at all cost and would never have them dj at my events regardless of how good the tunes they have or reputation... There are also certain promoters who i have no time for and would not step foot into any place they run .. Its about honesty, trust and friendship for me, without that the music aint enough alone to make me do something i don't wanna do.. I know plenty folk who would not let shit like this get to them but that not me.... Would not go and play for any person also that i did not like or respect also, there are enough good folk around... peace and love xx

Yes indeed and very very soon.. Plus the ammount now take away numbers from the soul club scene and all niters.. That makes it hard for these promoters to sort out dates and avoid clashing, they will all be clashing with a weekender every week soon. But we go where we wanna go..

Some writing on the lable to don't affect it too much plus some wear but looks ok and you can read it fine.. £100... Bargain i should think at latest price...

Just seen this on the BBC news.... An Australian politician has called for unemployed people to be stung with a cattle prod in an attempt to get them back to work. Maybe the same system on stage for all sinners too ... Getting stung on the stage at a big venue would be great footage for you tube and i bet the sinner would never come back.. Most venues that i have played at don't tend to have a cd player.... with that in mind i put a cd only track on a carver to play out.. If any have a problem with that then please let me know.. .... ps... Maybe there is a cd player at events i play at bit i have eyes only for the two decks and try and banish any thought of these new ideas ... Now if the un-released track is a legal issue on vinyl at anytime in the future, does that make my carver taken from a cd a boot or the original vinyl Or was my carver from a cd always a boot???? Before you get the ovo sticker for venues, we are gonna have to decide what costitutes non original vinyl...

Good points Barney.. I like a good mix of tunes but thats the problem, finding the right mix to keep all the punters happy.. I would like to be at the same venues as all my mates but not possible anymore , thare are all of in little splinters groups ) Sad to say that the different parties aint ever gonna come together again..IMO.. Many of us say that we would be happy with a good mix, buts its finding the right mix to keep all folk happy ..

Yes.. Get Mr Wigan and Sir Richard to do a joint promotion ... I don't think they send each other xmas cards anymore and it could cause friction... ... But.... I did go to the anniversary in Wigan about 3 years ago, got a free ticket and was looking forward to it... Was just getting out of the car in carpark just over the road from the nightclub??? can't remember the name??? it was that night that was live on the radio... A bloke came bounding over to me dressed in soul vest with patches a plenty and original sweat stains, enough flare in the pants to curtain the town hall... I thought it was gonna be a warm welcome, he told me" what the f*** are you doing here, you did not go to Wigan" .. What a start to the night i said... I did carry on after wiping the pie and spit off my coat.. Had a ok time, i knew what to expect music wise... It was a bit tacky in this night club with toooooooooo many flashing lights and glitz but still a million miles better than doing the boogaloo outside Greggs i guess.... If you don't look old enough to have gone to Wigan then watch out for this guy.. He will be lurking .. I'm with Mr Vickers but aint gonna drip any of that stuff on my bits... Thats really nice to hear Ian... I think we all would wish that a person would say that about us.. .. That makes you a true freind indeed but don't mean that others can't think a different way, you are doing the my way or the by-way again, thats what gets peoples backs up.. I and many others aint ever met Kev, we can only go by his actions when he first came onto this site.. He was not very nice at all, as you put it... You see my friend i don't do all that hate thing like some on this forum.. I may not like or respect a person but the hate thing is just a step too far for me... A brit award or anything like that don't matter a jot on here Ian.. Your songs will be treated like all other soul songs we talk about.. Some will think they are nice and some will think they are sub standard.... I am sure there are some who have an axe to grind with you and would not give you any credit but many others are just judging each record that you post up... I can see a good production but still not like the outcome and thats the case with a good few of your choices, they don't make me wanna rush for the off button but they don't grab me by the balls either... Thats what i want with music, something to give that feeling we can't always put into words.. Maybe some real depth in the voice,despair, anger, raw power and much more...A lot of these productions just pass me by.. It was the same with so much of the Acid Jazz stuff in the 90s, quite liked a good bit of that at the time but it was here today gone tomorrow for me with many of those tunes... I picked up a record a few years ago and did not know it was one of your productions before i had played it a few times, it sounded pretty good in the small bars that we played at.. "Half a man", not heard it anot sure in what box i have it now, not been played in a long while... Can we have a soundclip of that, would like to see if i still like it..
