  1. Indeed mate but we will soon have you up here for some gravy dinners Yes the capital was a great venue Simon but this about all niters, if we bring in clubs then it would never ever end..
  2. You aint been north.. North to you is Camden town.. The change for me was Warrington Parr Hall, the change from the oldies to the new 60s and then onto Droylsden all niters... Can't really comment on the best as i did not get to all the venues but the 100 club really ticked the boxes for me on the first few visits in the early 90s..
  3. Just watched it again and its pretty good light entertainment for the masses i should think.. Just seen the bit at the end when they have the tombola ( Spelling?) winner... Even that was a plug with the winner from Stoke Thats classic tv indeed but Russ missed the start of the track when on the decks.... Maybe he faked it OVO..yes indeed... Original Vests only
  4. The whole show was just a follow on from the souled out film.. Its a promotional tool to keep the public informed, you will see many more bits like this in the media in the run up to the film coming out and they will drag up the same stories and parade the dancers and old heads from wigan... The point of the film is to mass market it to joe public and hope that the soul scene too will take it on board, it looks like they will lose a vast number of folk from the scene but still get joe public on side, we shall see... The dancers/ old wigan heads and any others who were part of this light entertainment did so knowing what the outcome would be i hope , they can't have thought it was gonna be cool, a silly clown like POG and an audience of folk like that are there for laughs, not mass debate.. The Scouse clown scripted it to get laughs and thats what it got from the public i should think... The producers of the film will try and get as much tv/media as they can to push the film, thats what the games about... The Wigan circus is in full swing and the clowns are on tour.... It aint cool but it will but bums on seats at the cinema... The start of the show was ok with the old heads just talking about jumping out of the window, it was that bit at the end with that Dermott bloke and the others all trying to do the dance ... .... Russ nodding in the background as the performers do the Northern Soul dancing , he was rubbing his hands and pounds signs were flashing all around him... The only thing missing from the end of the show was the fire eating, jugglers and few midgets thrown in... POG and the producers of souled out got just what they wanted.. Everybody loves the circus don't they
  5. Need a tonic now.... Deal or no deal really got me down when the bloke thought is dead wife would help him get the 20 thousand and he walked away with a quid and tears all round.. Needed a toilet break after that and then that Wigan roadshow.. That Dermott bloke and the cast at the end being taught the slippy side/ back drop( with a whoo from the salppers in the front row), now you aint ever gonna top that, not ever.. Gonna hit the bottle now and get myself sorted before Emmerdale, tonight we have that Sugden wife beater found naked in the barn with a few sheep and no protection.... .. And this is suicide Tuesday
  6. Yes harmless fun and the best foooking laugh i have had for a while... Hid behind the door and turned the sound up, just like you do with them horror films when you were a kid... You can't have expected anything else on that silly cun'ts show... It fills the gap after Deal Or No Deal and before the Simpsons... It won't change anything, its just a bit of fun and a big up for the Casino circus
  7. This thread will put Levines in the shade now.... The fuse paper has been lit, now stand back and watch the fireworks..
  8. ... It could be a tough one to watch but then again the bloke just got a quid in deal or no deal .. We shall see.. Is it live???????

  13. Just passing on an email......details below.. Hello Everybody... Big News! That's right! We are ecstatic to announce that Otis Clay has agreed to join us on November 15th! In what promises to be THE Soul event of the season, Otis will return to Memphis and join with old friends Hi Rhythm to pay tribute to our man O.V. Wright. This rare intimate club appearance (his first with Hi Rhythm in over 15 years!) promises to be the talk of the town, and tickets will be going fast. If you listen to the great rendition of A Nickel And A Nail that this same line-up recorded on Soul Man: Live In Japan, I think it gives you some idea of just how cool this is going to be! Wow. We will, hopefully, be announcing this to the rest of the planet tomorrow but, as a member of the team, we wanted you to be the first to know. Now is the time to buy those tickets! I'd also like to acknowledge our newest sponsor, Hi Records, whose unselfish generosity has gone a long way towards making this all possible. Thank You Don and Jud - you guys are the greatest! ...and speaking of great guys, Tim Sampson, the Director of Communications at the Soulsville Foundation has offered to personally conduct a guided group tour of the Stax Museum of American Soul Music on November 15th at 4pm, after the museum officially closes to other visitors. We'll have the place all to ourselves! He is also offering a discounted admission price of $8.50, but space is limited, so if you'd like to join us, please send me an email to sign up. Thanks, Tim! That's all, for now... Stay In Touch! red kellyovwright.orgredkelly@optonline.netThe B Sidesoul detectiveThe A Sideholy ghost
