Paul Weller, Duffy and Mark Ronson's studio-band The Dap-Kings are working on the soundtrack for a new independent film about Britain's 1970's Northern Soul phenomenon.
'Souled Out' stars BAFTA winner Martin Compston, who rose to fame after appearing in Ken Loach's 2002 film 'Sweet Sixteen'.
The movie's producers are looking for extras who are willing to appear in some of the dancehall scenes, which will be filmed in Stoke-On-Trent on August 23.
Those interested are asked to apply on the film's website, Ipsofactofilms.com.
Northern Soul has made something of a comeback in recent times, with artists such as Amy Winehouse and The Rumble Strips taking a direct influence from the scene.
One of Paul Weller's earliest songs - a homage to the genre titled 'Left, Right and Centre' - was recently covered by Northern Soul legend Dean Parrish and sometime Babyshambles' collaborator Lord Large.
Lily Allen's brother Alfie is also set to star in 'Souled Out', which will be released in 2009.
