Maybe some would not like it whatever lable it was on Ian..... You can't play god with this stuff, its art at the end of the day.. It can't be easy for any artist to read a bad review...You just have to take it that some think its the best thing since the moon landings and others think its like the box set of crossroads.. A plug too for Christian who runs Soulastatic in Sweden.. Had a fantastic time there last weekend... A packed club, young up for it crowd who danced to rare soul.... Now thats what i call a weekend...

Yes there is a world of soul out there.. I have made it a mission to travel and try out soul nights all over the Europe and Oz/ America too... Its great to get some culture/ sight seeing and a good dose of rare soul, what more could you want... Not been to Valencia event yet but gonna make the effort soon, i know that Dani and Valencia/ Spanish have the passion indeed plus the tunes to back it up....The scene is pretty healthy for me, its just that you have to make the effort sometimes to try pastures new if you have the time/ energy or if family/work life lets you.. You also need an open mind too with regards to what you want from your soul ....

I can see them now, climbing over that soulful pile to get to the real northern soul .. Can we have a sounfile for that Biddu .... Who or what is a soul snob , how long is piece of string... Some would say its them forward looking folk trying to add a little colour to the soul canvas with a range of different sounds to mix with the established sounds.. Others would say its the Wally from Wigan who thinks crossover is in the Green Cross Code ... Like so many questions on this forum, there aint no real answer, its an individual thing.. Really good topic and lots of valid points... Mark B says it all really... "I think that the scene has probably split into too many factions now, and there is probably no way back" Yes there are many splits with so many people keen to dj and promote, but i can only speak about the more progressive soul nights as i don't go to any oldies events now... Sorry if a little off topic but thats the way the thread was going..
