Things you aint proud of .. Don't worry.. Many of us have had to do tricks on lorry drivers in the service station for a free lift to niters.... Its all part of the weekend fun.. Yes indeed.. I go to more small rare soul events and they don't all use the mic like the bigger events and all niters... The mic is like making love.. Sometimes you like to be vocal and tell your partner whats going on .... Other times you like to enjoy in silence and think shut the fu"k up..

This is another topic thats been done a few times i guess.. Like to have a Mic sometimes and say a few words that can add to the spot.. Other times i just like to play the tunes and talk to folk as they come up to the deck.. Don't like or want any set rules, just take it as it comes and keep the mic away from the djs who act like bingo callers

Yes indeed... Good post Matt.. I would like to meet up with all my mates of a weekend but they are split into different cults now... Maybe thats just a thing about getting older, you just find what you want and go with that.. As i have said before, i like a good mix of sounds but that kind of place aint to everones liking... Another sub group are the internet soul club.... Many on this forum just get the passion from logging on and don't attend soul nights.. Just do what you wanna do and try not to think too much about what others are doing.. Waste of breath/ time and energy.. Peace x

Interesting reply from the couple in question... If i was them i would make known the people who did the dirty on them and caused all the grief.. Then people could maybe leave them alone and question others who play the dirty game.... I would name them in an instant.. Just a thought..

Very good point Phil... There are some very good scripts and writers out there wanting to bring the underground soul scene to the big screen, lets hope they do get the chance.. I know some on the scene don't want anything to do with the media and all that but when/if its done right it could be something to blow away all music films that have gone before... Will go see this film before i pass comment...

Don't think they will use your wording on the film poster " this film is dog shit" ( The Burnley whippets weekly )

By a test do they mean something thats pretty close to the finished project, could they/ have they got time/ cash to do something quite different.... Anymore feedback from people who have seen the test screening??? Will be interested to see what the films like.. I hope its pretty good but i just have a feeling that the low budget will work against it as they have to cut many corners.... Not long to wait now for release i guess... Why speculate, just give it a chance... After release i am sure this forum can eclipse any Levine thread ten times over with feedback The trouble with some folk though is that they will moan/ bitch whatever the film is like.... They were just born to moan.. Why do you think that the film company took the thread off soul source and youtube??? Was it because they did not want any clips showing at all or because of the negative feedback yesterday??? If its shite then some will have to hide, the tin hat aint big enough In taking part in Function at the Junction i ran the same risk, i am just glad that the end result was liked on the whole... I could have been looking for another scene/ new friends and a change of ID... The big soul gamble will be over soon... Certain big time promoters will be hoping that it opens the floodgates and all niters will be staged in Wembley stadium... Not long to wait... I can see some already setting up the gallows and booking a front seat for the public floggings..

All these crystal ball threads .. We can't be sure what the future brings.. Don't lose any sleep thuinking about it.. Just get on with it now... Get out there and share the music and enjoy spending time with mates.. You could be hit by that bus tomorrow..
