  2. I can't wait 3 months for part two... I need to know now how many dollar bills he had to hand out to the street boys to save his little limey arse... Looking forward to seeing more details on this, have worked with Elaine many times in the past and her attention to detail/ style/feel along with her inside knowledge of the scene/ soul music based on her own lifelong interest will help bring something to the screen that shows some real passion... Time will tell i guess... Lets have em and then the lookbacks can start...

  14. Well you don't know me then Ady... Would i bother if it gets slated.... No chance.... why waste my time... It would be out on dvd before you know it i guess..
  15. Are the original clips gonna be in the film or is that just for the trailor???
  16. Should never have to hide Mike.. Its like anything, its all about opinions and all are valid.. Like other things, i will wait for some feedback when its comes out or private screening.. If the majority don't like it at all i won't waste my time as it will be on dvd before you know it.. I have some mates who took part and i will see what they think, they will not bull shit me.. They thought the screening last year was shite( to say the least) but now its gone back to the drawing board i guess and maybe they will change their minds.... We shall see..
  17. Can't really take it all in from them clips.. Nothing to really focus on for more than a second.. Don't get a good feeling from the advert or really have chance to see if it " really was dogshit"( Paul B's account after seeing the tester film last year).. I will wait for feedback from the full film and then decide if i wanna see it.. The whole topic matter with regards to Northern soul would be a cult film heaven done well, the feedback so far aint giving much hope but the jury is out i guess.. We can wait for some members to get a viewing of the feature and then start to get an idea of its worth i guess.. I hope to god it aint as bad as Paul S makes out, i really really do.. If so they will have wasted a great chance to make a great British classic... When is it gonna be out?????
  18. Yes mate.. Will have the neew issue and back issues available on Friday and Sat at the Radcliffe niter.. cheers

  20. Another hot topic.... With regards to attendance Simon??? what venues are you basing your post on???? I think a problem could be the number of pure RnB fans and the number of venues... 4 or 5 in Manchester, is that too many??? this year will tell the answer i think.. I like the idea of Bidds...
  21. Yes the same record.. Have and love both versions, can't really choose between them.... Quality choice Viney..
  22. some wise words on here.. Times are tough Mark, i and many others are self employed and aint got any or very very little work.. Bite the bullet and sell some vinyl, it can hurt like fook but family and health come first for sure.. There must be many many people on here who have had to sell some of a collection before, it hurts but when you get sorted again you can always replace the vinyl, you can't replace your health the same way....
  23. Good luck with getting your business back on track and i hope the insurance people sort you out quick.... The northern soul dj pay is still in the ice age Mark and will only pay for beer/ travel costs for most events..
  24. The all niter crowd is getting older and some can't keep it up like they did when a few years younger, less all niter crowd and still so many niters, you do the maths.. Thousands of soul nights too, many on the doorstep will keep a lot of folk from making the effort to travel.. Most folk start to collect at some point and want to play the records, if they don't get a spot someplace then they start their own night, who is to say if this is right or wrong???? Maybe its a case of burn out for a lot of folk and other irons in the fire too like family/ jobs/ health/ sanity.. I travel to events all over the uk and overseas, i think the scene is still massive, just splintered into thousands of small nights as folk get stubborn and set in their ways as to what sound they want.... Nothing wrong with that, we do our apprentiship, find what we really like and leave what we think is poor alone.... One thing the inernet does is to have soundfiles of rare soul that some download and then feel no need to attend certain venues to hear it... But is that a bad thing?? maybe the guy/ girl who can't get out anymore for various reasons will say the internet is keeping their rare soul passion alive.. Who are we to judge others.. Who are we to say whats right or wrong... I have to say that soul-source ( i aint been on any other soul forums for more than one minute )adds to my soul intake and puts me in touch with many folk i would never have met, its made me go out to more events as i see them listed and talked about.. The forum does not rule over going out to events ever for me, i have the weekends for dancing and attending soul events and the week days/ nights for talking shite on here... a win win for me... I know what i like.. I know what i want.. I just get on with it and gather around the people who feel the same way.... Off to bed now... Thats another place i like too.. RIP Teddy.... Another great soul is gone.. Get it while you can folks... Long time dead..
  25. Respect mate... x
