  1. I now have back issues from the past couple of years.. Any folk wanting copies then get in touch.. Please also leave us some feedback??? I am guessing we have quite a few reading this who have had copies in the past??
  2. Hit nail on the head Nev...
  3. I would be very happy to hear all of the above tracks, they sit well with me... The use of the word upfront also gives me an indication of what to expect..
  4. Its gonna be on yer tv very soon Steve, don't want to spoil it for you...
  5. And now the end of the line.. The new advert for Greggs is using a northern soul tune, using a big northern classic, this will get a re- press now for sure.. It's time to hide in a cave..
  6. Nice feedback and glad to see no snide comments about some of them tunes being RnB (" the devils music " ) .... Some of you have gone soft in yer old age Some call them " little bits of black plastic " ... To many of us they are family, to some even closer than that....
  7. There as always been a lot of price snobbery, its part of the scene like anything else..... Let em play that game, each to their own.... I look forward to maybe seeing a few new faces on Saturday and any lookbacks after the event.. The front room too will feature many tunes that don't cost a lot among some big ticket stuff.. No big deal, its all soul aint it.... I know many collectors/ djs over the years who would never look at anything under £80, they were playing the " keeping up with the Joneses " game.... They missed out on so much quality and i have seen many of them running up to decks all excited on hearing a tune they dont know, they then find out its only cheap to buy and lose interest, its a funny old game.... Nowt wrong in doing any of this in any way you want, if we all did the same it would be quite dull... When you can break a tune you find for peanuts and it goes on to be a monster then i would call that satisfaction indeed.. I am sure there are many examples????? i dont mean something bought in the 70s/ 80s against its cost now, more about something in the last 10/15 years.... Peace x
  8. The moment he walks in and sees his records, starts crying and kissing them, that got me going too.. Imagine that scene in a film, it would be a killer..
  9. I found this story quite moving and know just what emotions took place.... I lost a box of records 10 years ago and its haunted me ever since.... Have a read.... https://noisey.vice.com/en_uk/blog/this-story-of-a-vinyl-collection-lost-on-the-streets-of-edinburgh-will-melt-your-pessimism

  12. Generation game.... Old blokes who go up to cool young djs and tell them " that tune was hammered at the wheel in 69 "
  13. A new version of SPEED DATING.....All contestants are given 60 seconds to impress with words of wisdom ( or complete bollocks ) , extra points for best gurning.. 16. I think that " East Midlands vibe " is blokes with perms in vests sweating and gurning " that should have the ladies flocking to buy tickets...
  17. I miss the place not getting out so much to niters anymore.... A real soul venue run by " real " people with soul...... x

  19. I guess its all art and will court different views.... As with art there is some that makes me feel good and some that pains me more than cronic piles.....
  20. Most folk?? i think with 15,000 members and many more guests there are many thousands who dont know.... Tell us please.... Maybe blame promoters who let these sons on satan play at events up and down this country....
  21. My mind as gone blank on the post office club, any photos, I know I must have been there, ha ha.. The Old Steam Brewery, my first ever events there after moving to Manchester, great times in that cellar bar..
  22. ... I don't think he would get away with that round your way, ha ha...
  23. The guy doing the class is just A keep fit class, line dancing of a sort.. No threat to the serious soul police, I ain't ever seen him out and about and I live in the same City.. You are safe to come from under your beds... Classic Sadot, lob a hand grenade onto the main wall and stand back.. Ha ha..
  24. If this is the same guy doing the classes ( i think it is ).. His last event was a " working mens club " . see the link.. Northern soul meets pickled eggs..... Its not something we should take much notice of, its not gonna change our life... https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/whats-on/whats-on-news/pickled-eggs-babycham-trendy-northern-7879059
