  1. Cheers Karen Had a few topics like this before, always good to get as much into as possible, maybe i will put it all together sometime for a visitors guide to New York... Gonna be my first real visit, had a stop over once before for 10 hours... Looking to buy tunes/ clothing and maybe play a little bar/ club if any free little slots... Thanks for info Brav... got all that and will make some contacts.. Any more info would be great.... got a night playing moldie oldies/ Rock Steady and RnB.... Just the ticket...
  2. Going to New York for week from 11th August to 18th.... Got some info but would like some more please... record shopping... Clubs/ bars playing all things soul/ mod/ funk/ jazz/ Reggae/ska etc etc... Vintage clothing Oh and a good chemist .... maybe best in pms.... only joking folks......
  3. well it looks like an outbreak of clap is coming soon maybe... I had better tell the chemist to stock up
  4. "WILL have a bit of clap if the mood takes me"..... plenty of it going around down South i hear.... No clap in Manchester
  5. A great tune indeed.... Killer flip too if you like your ballads...
  6. Integrity and northern soul would make a good book imo.... But some would not wish this to come light i guess... Feel free to start a debate Steve, i am sure it would be of interest to many Anymore feedback on the film??? must have had plenty members who have seen it now... Joko??????
  7. Northern soul and Rugby league.... Now that mixture makes you moist Always lived on the M62 area, Huddersfield/ Manchester... very strong for northern always... i found Surrey was not up to scratch with Northern soul on visits to see my girlfriend some years ago, can't think it will have changed really.. Its your working class places that were strong, the class things don't hold up so much anymore, we have people on soul source now who can read/ write and have the odd o'level.. How times change....
  8. Soul Source.... The place for our special needs.. No badge needed for you Simon...
  9. contact details are on the flyer Mark... Give the bloke a ring or email and see what he says.. Maybe the used the same flyer guy for design or maybe just lazy and no respect...
  10. Yes the link to the film is this book.... I have read the book and am not aware as to what is fabrication and what is the truth as i was not there at the time.. Of interest to many ( including myself ) i should think but can we keep this topic about Soul Boy the movie and feedback from any of have seen the film etc.. Feel free to start a topic about fabrication of any aspects of the scene, i am sure plenty would like to know who is Walter Jackson and who is Walter Mitty
  11. Cheers ian I think it was tracks like Jamming and other bits i skimmed that did sound a little flat, some good bits on the link... Quite emotional footage at times...
  12. yes but you are down SAAAAAAAAARTH with bigger and better quality everything... plus it could have been to cooooooooing of my pigeons and the Ferret down my pants that took away the sound quality... Its grim oooooooop North... Maybe i can catch some of the set on youtube or other outlets???? will it be on BBC i player
  13. had to tun off.. the sound quality was pretty bad and that lost it for me.... Real shame...
  14. sorted now....
  15. nice photos Dave.. Really nice... not easy to look at them mind.... not easy at all... Life just aint fair sometimes.... Regards to all Glens close mates and family.. Steve
  16. Was having a chat with Glen at Cleethorpes and saying that he should be playing out more, got to hear him just once at the Greatstone, quality indeed... These things come as such a shock when you have just seen them out.... So so sad.... Anothe soul gone....
  17. Jesus Philly... Thats just more ammo for some now... Russ bingo calling there during the record and doing the Mustang Sally god bless em.. Hope they had a good time... Any footage or feedback from the un-official party
  18. great post mate.. Dogshit Barker and you and others are best placed on here to give us some feedback with regards to production/ style and how the finished product looked to you... Soulsouthlodge did not know of how much involvment Paul had in all this when making the call to grow up i guess.. Plenty more to come on this topic i should guess.. Feedback so far is mixed, some have given the film a healthy 8 out of 10 and others think its something smelly that gets on your shoe.. There is a topic for feedback for those that have seen the film, look forward to more feedback there, there must have been many members who have seen it on the showing in Scotland...
  19. You are warming to it then ... It was dog shite last time you gave it a review.... Maybe the version of the film you got to see is quite different to the movie thats out now???
  20. Mischief making Indeed.... Sometimes grown ups can resort to playground antics.... RIP..... Big Bob.... Till the next time.....

  24. I see Simons been busy with youtube dowmloads ... I did mean all music type on soul source.. Thats why the reggae gets on the list... 33 there..... I too like to just call them good or bad ones Ged but the genre flyer is here to stay i think as folk need to know just whats on....
