Under 50 bracket as the benchmark for younger djs, i like that, it still includes me for a few years...

I can think of many younger djs from 20 up to 40 who are on the scene and playing/ buying tunes of all description... 60s northern/ RnB/ Funk/crossover/ modern/ etc etc etc.. Just back from Italy all djs apart from my self under 40, its the same in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Spain, Germany, France etc etc etc.. These guys collect big ticket and cheap as chips.. The "scene" as we call it can mean different things to many, i take you are on about the tradional northern scene, 60s/ 70s oldies??? In the future its gonna be a much smaller scene and many different styles played under one roof, sometimes seperate rooms and sometimes all in the same room.... There are many younger djs who will take it forward, the problem could/ will be that its a dj/ collector based scene in the whole with not enough straight up punters, both are needed, Most of the younger crowd that i know are collectors/ djs and only a few are just soul loving punters... You need the punters to dance/ the djs to dj and the collectors to chin stroke and think about the 1st 2 options.. This will make for smaller/ tighter underground venues, not the traditional large nighter venues of old.. There can/ will be some large scale events with a mix of scene/ trendies/ tourists to fill it up... Many of us travel overseas to events on a regular basis, this could/ will increase and the uk scene can host djs from all over Europe and beyond... I and some others are taking up this option at present, the cheap budget airlines will play a big part in all this, if they go and travel becomes a luxury then its gonna be a hardcore with good incomes and even smaller/ less frequent events.. One thing to think about is this talk of big ticket tunes??? i guess they are only worth as much as a person wants to pay?? when the demand falls then so will the price of these items..... The much younger collectors/ djs could be in for some real real bargains .. Good topic and one thats brought up time and time again... Scenes that court change and can alter direction, not a bad thing in my book... Maybe the younger djs on this forum can add a word or two... There are gonna be plenty reading this topic at some point...

Good points there Bearsy/ Joan etc etc... As i said 2 clashing all niters is quite common with a fixture congestion but this weekends is what Kev was on about, its just plain crazy and somethings got to give, does anyone know what Derby and Blackpool would regard a good crowd/ whats cappacity... I know Rugby is AROUND 350...

Not seen that Chalky.. Not looked at the 2011 list.. will have a look now.. 2 all niters clashing aint out of the norm now its seems.. 3 all large niters all in the north on the same night is pure crazy and thats why i guess Kev started that post... Lets see the feedback or is it fall out from this weekend... Happy Valentines.....

It looks like by new niters/ clashing that Kev is talking about this weekend and 2 new large promotions/ all niters.... clashing with the Rugby anniversary.. Nowt to do with Steptoe or others.. 3 very large promotions for all niters, all with quality line ups and second rooms, many many djs playing... Are there enough punters to go round, will it not cause some grief?? is it a crazy idea by some promoters.. A simple question asked a by a punter with no axe to grind.. The best people to answer would be the promoters/ djs and maybe punters going to each event.. I aint going to any of the events and will leave it at that.. Just seen the post above.. Maybe check the other topic then Kev and your questions could find an answer there...

For one moment i thought we had found heaven.. I did forget what you lot are like... You think your the master race with inside toilets and you all talk like the queen while drinking Shandy ... Its all fine, we just meet up for weekends of soul, then you go back to your castle while we try and keep warm in our caves... Back on topic... What new all niters are being promoted this year??? Burnley... 4 times a year... Anymore folks????

A solution maybe then Mr Bear.. Any new niters could re-locate/ start down South, more than enough punters and lots of space and no clashing.... Bearsy.. you could be the goose thats laid the golden egg with that post

Indeed... Many examples of the so called mini niter thats got real quality.. Maybe many moons ago the niter was the holy grail with regards to quality of djs/ music etc etc etc.. Not anymore.. Enough real quality events to keep many folk happy and no need to go to niters anymore... Niter promoters have to be on their toes as times change and people change with it.. In the world of promotions, nothing stands still forever,i know that after all these years.. The longer soul night events that finish after 2am could be the main core of the rare soul scene as folk get older and can't last out/ don't want to last out till 6/7/ 8am... I promote both as i have friends who don't/ can't do niters anymore but still have the passion... The weekenders will go to long soul nights i guess, better a good finish at 4am with a crowd wanting more than a 7/ 8am finish with just a few peeps left and little atmosphere... Promoters should be there to react to whats going on around them.. If the promotions going fine then don't try and fix what aint broke, if its a struggle then take action and try and improve.. Common sense to me... Nowadays i am happy with say one niter a month and a few long soul nights, many feel the same...

The doors swing many ways don't they mate... Niter promotions starting at soul night times can piss off local established nights.. etc etc But the topic was about new niters.. All the other issues would be a Levine type thread... This is about new niters starting... Maybe Kev can elaborate and then we could get some responce to his concerns..

Good points but going off this topic aint it... Feel free to start a topic anytime with regards to ethics and multi rooms...

Sometimes the thread works best if an example is given mate... Then maybe other promoters who have clashed can have reply, Maybe highlighting it can lead to more disussion for future events.. One day all them promoters could have a group hug Maybe this will start it as its valentines coming up...

An example Kev would help the thread.. As said above nowt new.... Look at this Saturday, 3 major all niters in Rugby, Derby and Blackpool... ... Rugby dates done well well in advance, maybe a year before but still don't stop all the clashing.. Its not just the promoters, its the djs that take them bookings too, if they did not then the clowns would have no circus...

Big statement saying no ethics... As been and always will be all manner of folk on this scene... These fakes for want of a word have not just appeared overnight... The ammount of events makes it easy for those with fake goods to play out... No matter, same old topic... We know who do it the way we want, just choose your events.... Report this Azza. if you paid via paypal i thought there was the option of cash back if fake goods sold.. We must have someone on here who knows who makes and who sells this shite????? a good chance the boot-leggers are looking at this thread too Good luck mate and press for action, you just might stop others getting caught out..

They are the future maybe.... Seems a shame but many niters suffer from crowds drifting off after 3/ 4am.. Maybe better a good mini is best as the real deal tails off.. Food for thought...

Cheers mate.. Got a few copies of the other, was gonna list this at £15 for sale before i realised it was a double sided promo.. Thought it was strange, never ever seen one in all my time... Nice little find then.. Maybe it will go for sale, can't price it, maybe ebay or auction.. Picked this up for a few quid, did not read the promo bit, got it home and thought i would spin the " i will not cry as i aint heard it in many moons and always liked.. Will have to go back to the place i got it, maybe another copy lurking.. Will teach me to look with care through all boxes at these places....

Always had this tune since early 80s with "I WILL NOT CRY ON FLIP" still love both sides.. Used to get copies at £1 packs from Bostock records... Picked up a promo of with make me yours on both sides.. Not seen it before.. Is this issue more rare, info and price please.. cheers
