  1. My idea with so many events in Manchester was to ask another promotion to join me, just take one of the dates we both had each month... One promotion each month with our joint crowd and freinds... Look at monthly promotion, maybe its too often.... if there are 2 events clashing each month then look at bi- monthly, then you could both get all the crowd at each event.. Put your toys back in the pram and lets have promoters chatting to each other.... There is a way but you would have to play at being an adult, some folk aint quite there yet... Peace and love you son of a bitch......
  2. ha ha.. cheers mate... Never sure as some boots do go for quite a bit at times i hear...

  6. "Relax and do it, when you go through it"... wise words Jezz... The northern scene was and still is the same for me and others.. Some classics, some lesser played great soul tunes and a good few that are new to your ears.. Aint rocket science... Relax
  7. you would be welcome at our event Steve as you are local.. We play a mix of sounds in 2 rooms and you get something that little bit different sounds wise for sure.. Who knows mate, you might like what you hear.. we play black soul music from the 60s/ 70s in the main on 45s but not your classics night, something a little bit different.. Is it Northern, rare groove, RnB, gospel funk, latin, crossover, deep funk, etc etc etc.. Lets just call it rare soul... Get out and live it.... long time dead.... cheers..
  8. met a lot of younger folk into soul on my visit there...
  9. Maybe not the same buzz if dj was playing white cardbord cover ups.. Nice idea, would stop the boooooooooooooooooooot alert maybe also
  10. I have never in all my years been charged for anything, not sure where that comment comes from, don't know of any others who being charged either... Carry my 125 box with me all the time as hand luggage, its 7.5 k, room also for a few other bits of clothing on 10kg limit... How can they charge????? tell me, sometimes we pay our own way and book hotels etc, the dj fee would not cover that, do we then ask for cash back as we are out of pocket??
  11. yes you can.. join us.. The underplayed in betweenies So your a bit of this and a bit of that, you lick the stamps on both sides ... join the club..
  12. you speak with such clarity for a person from Preston..... ... Good post and so so true.... The 2 scenes, moldie oldies and Up front you c"nt .. Maybe another scene for the us in betweenies, like the song says.. " something old, something new,"... " I'm just an itsy bitsy teenie weenie lover of soul an in betweenie " la la la la la...
  13. I think you make some very good points there.... Many of us happy with a mix from Quality classic northern to rare underplayed or whatever the new buzz word is ... Some people forget that we still want exciting nights that still give you the BUZZ, with new sounds, underplayed and classics, all mixed together.. The classics just don't need to be telegraphed like setting your watch waiting for the hit list... We hear so much about toooooooooooooooo many djs and all that, i think its too many people playing yes but to call them all djs is taking the piss a little... DJS get you fired up and moist, hanging on their every word, while others can be dark clouds on a wet Monday.. keep it fresh, keep it exciting, long time dead and still life in many of us old dogs yet.... xx
  14. The realism in that would have me moist bring it on darlings.... Lets hope the funding does come through for this blokbuster,,, i can also see this going to panto too... "Roddy in Boots "
  15. I danced to 3 songs above last weekend, funny world aint it.. go easy folks and DANCE DANCE DANCE................... COME ON AND DANCE DANCE DANCE... X
  16. i'm standing is one he thinks of i guess.. I don't call it Country and Western, thats rude... Its " two c"nts from Preston "
  17. indeed a tune that would send me out for fag anytime... :sleep3:
  18. Friday to Monday at the Brighton weekender, last years Sunday niter was really that good, with the Saturday vintage stuff and djs on the seafront, plus a Friday meet and Saturday all niter its gonna be a quiet one for me
  19. That Mace bloke looks like he's only got one CSE in woodwork but makes a very good point above.... Always been a fan of shorter sets.. Smaller more intimate venues for a more progressive sound works just fine as the folk wanting this are in the minority for sure, common sense i guess..
