  1. Great track on the money lable mate, one of my first ever buys, still ssounds so good today...
  2. Are all these look a likes coming from one source/ factory/ maker or is it widespread with many people knocking them out.. We are being swamped with fakes, are they from mars , USA or some place down the M6 .. If the answer aint for public consumption then can someone please drop me a message....
  3. but strong vg+ .... Was playing in Barcelona and had 4 x 50 box, the 2 my mate was carrying for me , left in taxi or robbed in early morning cafe, we will never know... I don't see much of this freind anymore... Nothing in there of great value cash wise but still 100 of your own records.. Don't see much of this mate anymore, everytime i do the subject comes up , glad he as moved away from Manchester now and the torture is less.... After that i made sure all tunes in one bigger box.... shit happens..... Also came home to find a record on the carpet with the claw marks all the way through the record, the cats had been at it .. Also sat on a few and dropped the box a few times, shit happens, we have all this fragile vinyl and go out and get pissed or spangled .. Boxes with tens of thousands of pounds left under tables at venues or on an empty stage, the crazy world of northern soul.... Also beware of the postman trying to force 45s through a tiny letter box ...
  4. Dee Edwards... "why can't there be love " Classic in demand track on Bump Shop records.... £90... ex condition... paypal available....
  5. sorted now.. Thanks...
  6. cheers Mark and others for info... drop us a line anyone if a copy for sale.. cheers
  7. Been asked to look for a copy for a freind.. Drop us a line if you know of a copy for sale.. Is it a 7" and 12" release, not sure.... rare???? any info... cheers
  8. I agree with that too Cobbles.... many many more out there that i would put above JC... And i know part of its magic is the very very rare aspect but.... JC is a cult record, when its played to its true cult the atmosphere is a sight to behold...
  9. JC is the kind of tune that really works out and loud in the right club, with those ingredients it does create a magic blend.. Many times we view tunes from a play off the pc while sat at home with a cup of tea... Not really the place to do it justice... "The revolution will not be televised, the revolution will be live" Spiritual lyrics that lead some folk to the mountain top.. praise the lord... praise the lord...
  10. Wonder where this copy is from, i know who owns the other 3, is this a sale by one of them or a 4th Copy... I would guess this making treble the last one sold for at least.. We shall see... In the right club at the right time this tune works a treat, glad there aint too many copies around, to hear it a few times a year is good, would not want it battered every week, same with many other tunes... I can see how this tune is the dogs bollocks to some and not to the liking of others, aint that the beauty of music... Go easy folks...
  11. Interesting thread Russ and good to see your passion.... If you got the event together then i would look to support if at all possible. Much on up here, it would just depend on possible clashes, thats the hard bit with so many events i guess.. . Always good to get to new events and support promotions.. Any of us coming from up North would have big trouble understanding you lot but i am sure that would not take away from the experience... Getting topics like this going could really work for other parts of the country too, yes plenty nights but very fractured, a few promoters coming together and showing unity could work wonders and repair some deep wounds that have had a real negative affect on many good folk.. Good luck and let us know if you get anything together, a few of us would look to come down to the tropics and get a top up on our northern tans
  12. Yes indeed.. Loved it when i was 17 but not a tune for grown ups .. Wow, how your ears change... imo of course...
  13. I will go with that..... You can also add that fooking 7 day fool.... Big tunes and floor fillers indeed but tunes that i would use for a fag or piss break.... Oh you can add that Johnny Howard, JD Bryant to the list... peace and love x
  14. Great story Mick. Pete Smith could even cope with being called a brummie, ha ha. Wanna meet you oneday Mick, that would be nice .take care.
  15. Interesting post from Wrongcrowd... Yes it does need the multi room to get a wide range of sounds played it seems.. Thats what we started a new event for, in a hope to get a lot of freinds back together who have gone there different ways to get whatever their fix of soul is... To play say 60s RnB and modern soul in the same room is a non starter for the vast majority, some folk have a broad taste but not enough it seems to have a true across the board music policy... Different strokes, our club night this Saturday will play RnB, 60s rhythm and soul, jamaican soul, rare 60s Northern, crossover, 70s and Deep funk in 2 rooms, not a true across the board as its missing out the modern side but it shows how difficult it is to please everyone as our tastes are many over the 50 years of black music.. Another time we will drop the RnB and replace that with modern as well in coming months to try and get the whole spectrum of sounds and try and bring some unity but again that will in the same building but in different rooms as some styles just don't mix.. A challenge indeed but if you don't try you don't get... A Frankenstein soul experiment , we will let you know how it goes in the coming months.. Good topic...
  16. Just going through some an old box and found these demo's.. Vicki Anderson " don't throw your love in the garbage can " a double sided promo on Brownstone Records 1972.. 20. Nice one Len... Its been such a part of my life since 16 years old and still is today.. Would not change anything for the experiences and time i have had.. A few pricks along the way but thats life... Go easy folks and look after each other, we have something so so special... x
  21. please tell me in a message mate.. who is this rotter that calls himself a man of soul... I need these tit bits Kev to brighten up my very existence Would taking an hammer to something that is illegal on the decks be illegal, i wonder.... ????????????
  22. Don Gardner.. Don't you worry on Dave Goddins soul city lable... mint unplayed in original sleeve... Was in a sales box and listed to sell but back into my collection... It came from a good freind who got part of Dave Goddins collection on his death, this record was part of that collection... They were very very good freinds, this makes it all the more special... Having a clear out but.. Somethings aint for sale i guess..
  23. Ovo at any venue.. Had this dilemma for my wedding also.. Could not get decks for the service in registry office, had to sign my life away to cd recording but i did take the recording from original vinyl Wedding meal, just about all ovo, did have one dj sneak in an acid jazz comp while the soul police were at the bar.. Wedding party... All vinyl.. All ovo for sure... All presents of vinyl OVO..... All in all a good day but me straying from the real footpath does blight my thought on each anniversary... Also the 3 button suit was a must, standards again but i did have ladies underwear beneath it, thats for a another topic i guess..
  24. is that that 70s modern stuff?? done 40 years ago?? Or something more up to date...??
