A few LP only tracks to warm these colder nights, mostly 70s recordings with a couple early 80s and a few late 60s too. Cheers :)

Ronnie dyson and heaven and earth two of my fave tracks

Every now and then I will be at a soul venue with my old mate Vinnie and after a few beers( well maybe more than a few) one of us will say " after all these years who would think we would still be doing this ". But we are in our own ways maybe not a 4 hour round trip maybe not a all-nighter (well not many) but I still love the like minded people the music and maybe I don't get on the dance floor as much as when I was a young'un , but when I do I still get that feeling that I got the first time I got on the floor. The scene has changed over the years but we still go and still have a good time, is that all that counts?

whats this about a few beers chris ?? you have your own barrel

Yep, deejayed there a few times. The venue was famous for it's record decks being suspended from the ceiling on 4 wires!

I also remember writing-off one of my cars on the way back from Cleethorpes but still making it to the Cat's Whiskers for a set on a Sunday afternoon - how's that for commitment!

Am I going nuts or did I once DJ there with Jr Walker & The All-Stars? I seem to remember but can't be absolutely sure that was the venue.....

I think there were two promoters at different times - John 'Kojak' Harvey (interesting bloke - I never knew where he came from or whether he was a big Northern fan or not) and Terry ? (forgotten his name but he promoted a lot of gigs in the early 70's).

But Meanwood? Phew. Not a good place to hand around on a dark night LOL.....

    Ian D

was there the day jnr walker was on (let a few of  us on stage with him blowing away with some little toy sax we got at a toy shop)    think one of your big tunes was moments -I go the need at the time
