  3. If I remember right some people got stung with these lookalike copies when they first got booted, very similar to the original, think the vinyl is tranparant on the boots when held up to the light. £150....... John M

  15. Too be honest I try to support the smaller venue rather than the highly promoted large venue nowadays, main reason for me is I don't like crowded venues, and also I find the music played at large venues not to my personnal taste. For some reason though The Northern Soul scene does seem to attract promoters who like to make " Big Bucks ", it's always been that way...........
  16. Hi pete..... I played Roy Hamilton...Panic is on, at The Greatstone Manchester last saturday night, as usual it went down a storm. One guy came up to the decks after I played it, and he asked who it was cause he didn't know it, he thought it was one of the best records he'd ever heard.....
  17. That's the first I've heard, thought I was on in September........ I would like a copy of TKO'S also, number one tune played in our house JM Sorry ANDY F
  18. I must say that at a glance it seems like a reasonable idea, but unfortunatly I would have to say totally unworkable, I'm all for original vinyl, but that doesn't mean everybody thinks the same........
  19. Agree there jamie, I know the thread as moved away from it's original point, however, There are some venues when only original vinyl will be accepted, there are some venues, especially mainstream Northern Oldies nights when to be honest most punters on the door who pay to get in couldn't give a toss what format the track was played in, Original, re-issue, god forbid even C.D. Thinx we all need to be a little broad minded, after all it is the 21st century. JM
  20. At The Greatstone Hotel on saturday, I kicked off my spot with " Dottie Pearson..Bring it over baby " recent grapevine release, and previously unissued, I have no problem playing records in this format..
  21. Superior to Brenda Holloway , Now come on Brett, how could anything be superior to the great BH.......
  22. Don't think there is a way out ........
  23. Always difficult to remember that specific time when all of a sudden nothing else will do other than soul........ About 1977 started going to local under 18 nights a mix of Funk & Northern, all my mates were into Northern, one of them used to take his record along and the D.J used to play them, and we all would dance, handstands & stuff, tracks i remember were..... James & Bobby Purify....Shake a tail feather Jimmy Raye...Philly Dog around the world Detroit Shakers..Help me Human Beinz....Nobody but me Tim Tam & the turn ons..Wait a minute M.V.P's....Turning my heartbeat up 7 Dwarfs....Stop girl Ann Perry...That's the way he is Newbeats...Don't turn me loose Bunny Sigler...Don't make me wait Adams Apples...Don't take it out of this world....... We all thought Funk was rubbish, but all the girls were into funk....
