  1. Yes Mal, Great version as you say. The flip is what i like on the malcom hayes.
  2. Not sure of current price on this but intetested in a copy. Anyone got one ?
  3. What does this go for nowadays ? Does anyone have one for sale ?
  4. Anyone have one for sale ?. Always a great cheapie, know it's crept up a little in price recently, would like a nice clean copy.
  5. Totally agree, its mainly the classic northern scene which is under threat from Mp3's, reissues, lack of knowledge. it would be very weird to go along to rare and underplayed night to hear non vinyl.
  6. Looks like another thread for Grumpy old gits to let off steam........with respect lol. it's hard to define knowledge, you know what you know, but are on a constant learning curve, are the posters on this thread saying they know everything so can cast judgement on those a little further back on the path to soul enlightenment, the best way to learn is to learn from your mistakes, i still make them.
  7. Tin hat on ready for the flack lol, but i like the term Northern Soul, all other terms for the music just don't cut it or create the passion. rare soul, crossover, R&B, newies, oldies, its all Northern soul too me.
  8. Anyone have one of these for sale ?, Nice condition of course.
  9. Vote with your feet, if it bothers you don't go. If your not bothered go along. i won't be going.
  10. On a positive note, i was at the Kings Hall on Saturday, and thought it was a really good event, sorry to hear about the nasties. It is one of those venues that makes you want to get up and dance, big dance floor, high ceiling, made for northern soul.
  11. The Martiniques - I'll go on loving you........... I'll be your night in shining Armour baby, and slay a dragon or two
  12. Sold mine about 5 years ago, really wish i still had it, class record............
  13. Many fond memories of Joe, i remember when he first posted on here no one knew who Pikeys Dog was, He turned up at the Ducie Bridge Manchester for one the New Century warm up events about 10 years ago, let it out the bag, Top Guy, will be greatly missed.
  14. Really interesting article, i've had the mainline copy for about 10 years, remember getting it off Butch at the 100 club in 2005, but knew nothing about its origins until this article. Many thanks for sharing.
  15. It's all about balance for me, don't mind hearing D.J's playing expensive tunes, but stick a few cheapo's in too, if it's all Rare for rare sake sake it just becomes pretentious IMO, having said that, for me the music quality is of course the most important aspect, keep it soul ful !, and don't take your ego's behind the decks, leave them at the door.
  16. After a nice clean copy of this please, anyone ?
  17. All sorted now, thanks to everyone for their help and advice.
  18. Forris woods was the version i was familiar with, only recently aware of the David Morris one. Perhaps i've heard David Morris many times thinking it was Forris Woods.
  19. Thanks for that, my estimate about right then. just need someone to part with a copy lol.
  20. Many people after the Tamboo release, me too. Great track.
