  1. If it means smaller venues so be it, sometimes making hard choices means accepting some sacrifices. Again speaking as a Non smoker, I would welcome it.....
  2. I personnally can't wait for it to happen......Speaking as a non smoker of course.
  3. Excellent magazine, definatly worth £2 !!! One of the few Mags that I end up reading all the way through cover to cover......
  4. Definatly not rare, and was always a fiver ( How many times do we say that about a record ), however, have to admit it is my fav Oldie, and it always get's me on the dancefloor when played......I picked one up for £25 when the price started to go up, and glad I did. Will £200 now be the norm, If so I'll sell mine..... ( Issue though not D.J )
  5. I especially like the volt label, so many great tracks. My current favourite is " Hot Sauce " ...Bring it home ........Lurverly track
  6. Hope it wasn't advertised as Mint minus, with slight label damage stevie......
  7. I've got one...........need to check for certain. will PM you.
  8. Chin up Brett, I personnaly like to insist on how I want to pay rather than adere to the wim of the seller, some of the US dealers are right up their own arses anyway.
  9. Personnal choice I think on this subject........However none of us are getting any younger, sooner or later somethings got to give. Can we still be up for doing allnighters when we're in our 60's and 70's ? Just enjoy them while you can, I think eventually all dayers will gradually become the more sensible option.
  10. R&B = pre 1964, when the music was in transition from Rock & Roll to Soul..... so not really soul music.... IMO Crossover = 1968 to 1972...good examples, Margie Joseph ...One more chance Barbara Acklin....Am I the same girl........ 70's......Overlapping with crossover...1970 - 1978 or until Disco fever came along and all the artists jumped on the Disco bandwagon...... Modern Soul........IMHO 1980 to present, however that for me is a bit broad, could divide it into 80's, 90's, Y2K, and up to the minute cuts...... As said previously no 2 people seem to have an identical opinion on this....
  11. Just played mine it sounds fine........Also turn it over and spin, " I'm just a teenager " good tune too. I think there are a couple of slightly different label designs aswell. I've seen some copies that have a small pic of a bag on the label, mine doesn't. JM
  12. Mmm all the " Big All nighter " promoters under one roof sounds interesting, I'd tune into that.......
  13. Oh yes and of course we'd have to go through the carade of " did they do it under the sheets " .......UUUGhhhhh. Lets just forget the idea.
  14. Well looking at the suggested line up.........I kick them all out straight away.. No second thoughts i'd lock them all in an throw the key away..
  15. This is a brilliant track, I picked one up myself a few weeks ago.......
  16. Class track, not heard to often nowadays, perhaps due for a little revival.....gonna dig it out and play it now...
  17. Two of the most regular played tunes in the May household........Mmm Mmm belters..
  18. Thanks.......Yes, I remember now.
  19. It said in the programme what "Fame" stood for, an abreviation, can't remember now what it was......anyone remember ?
  20. I enjoyed the programme, i love the stax and southern soul stuff, real emotion in the artsists voices, and for me that is what soul is all about. I sat there for an hour just in awe at those artists especially Otis..... To be honest I would rather watch a programme like that rather than one on Northern Soul, because as said before, your guarenteed footage of wide trousers and tunes like Judy Street " What "....... Personally I would rather listen to Otis Redding irrespective of it's commercial value. Must admit would have liked to have seen footage of say, Margie Joseph, or Carla Thomas.......never mind, can't have it all.
  21. Think that pretty well covers it...... The one that I thought of, before I checked the list was The Wonderettes " I feel Strange "...Ruby and then United Artists...
  22. Used to be a track called " me and you " on Diamond that used to get played, not heard or seen a copy for a long while..
  23. Saw this Track featured in a recent " Soul up north " magazine, so picked one up off ebay last week for about $15. Nice track noticed it was arranged by Wardell Quezerque, so guessing it's got " New Orleans" connections. Does anyone else have any info on it....
