  1. Just the one highly regarded disc for now. PM for any additional images, sound file or to reserve. William Cummings - Make my love a hurting thing - Bang Bang 348 Ex+ £2500 If this went on forever, I wouldn’t mind one little bit, so forgive me when I say as brilliant as it is it leaves me wanting more at 2:12 minutes long. Recorded at Rodel Studio, this short lived Washington DC label has links to the Richmond, Virginia soul set. Cummings himself was a trombonist in Zeke and the Soul Setters band, but clearly had enough about him to propel the strong vocals needed into battle with the bursting horn fanfares that coarse through this monumental Northern dancer. The question is of course, did he skip between the role of lead and blowing brass for all he was worth! Doesn’t come to market often, and in fact my 2nd copy, replacing the first having suffered the usual years of regret. A tough decision to let this one go, BUT as the story goes for many, I need another 45 more! Vinyl original of course, one small light mark, which a previous owner appears to have used biro to cover up, and a very feint edge wave, neither of which affect play in any way at all. Call me a spotter but the appeal is added to by clean rich plum label with intricate silver print layout. Looks great and plays beautifully. Fully insured postage will be included. PayPal by friends please, or add 4%, alternatively I can send bank details. Cheers, Lee
  2. Tidy little selection up for grabs ….. Happy to send additional images or sound files where needed. PM any questions or to reserve. Yvonne & Violets – Cross my heart – Barry 1004 DJ Ex £250 (Popular girl group dance on this great Chicago label. Couple of light marks that don’t affect play. Has some feint letters on top label, and feint ink imprint on the flip having been laid on a newly printed label) Charles Diamond – No one can take your place – Breakthrough 81582 Ex £225 (Alternative take that gives the "Inspirations" a run for their money. Some light marks on run in but no effect on play) Ernestine Eady – The change – Junior 1007 Promo Ex- £150 (Beautifully crafted vocals on this catchy dancer, heavy drum backing with horn break. Philly at its best and the first label release. Top label is worn with some feint writing on this harder to find promo copy. Vinyl is visually EX and play very well) Patti & Emblems – I’m gonna love you a long, long time – Kapp 897 Ex+ £1200 (Premier Northern dancer that has all the right things in the right place! I can remember only being able to read about it, given its Unicorn status, but I have been a handful have surfaced for sale over the years, and it’s remains right up there amongst the hardest Black Stock copies to find. One light handling mark on top side, plays lovely) Don Ray – Born a loser – RCA 9438 Promo Ex £250 (Stereo-typical Northern styled dancer from the vast RCA catalogue, always a favourite. Flip label has wear) Rose Battiste – Hit and run / I miss my baby – Revilot 204 WD Ex+ £600 (Detroit double header of epic proportions, can’t split these 2 sides, both equally good. A very tiny date in biro on ‘miss’ label) Variations – I wanna take you uptown – Right On 1001 Ex £225 (Edgy group soul dancer. Labels show some ageing) Ronnie & Robyn - As long as you love me – Sidra 9011 DJ M- £375 (Dale Warren penned and produced monster, that understated intro which burst into full blown action, filling floors to this day. Gorgeous promo copy with ‘Step into my heart’ on the flip. Edge lift that causes a bobble on the tone arm, but plays through without a problem, becoming less pronounced as it works its way to end) Debonairs – Please come back baby – Soul Click 8097 Ex+ £900 (Texas banger, raw vocals and unpolished arrangement, but that’s what makes some obscure 45s sought after. The flip will appeal to sweet soul lovers. Edge lift that causes a bobble on the tone arm, but plays through without a problem, becoming less pronounced as it works its way to end) PayPal by friends or add 4% please, or I can send bank details. Postage: £8.95 – Special Delivery <500g (Fully insured up to £750) £11.95 – Special Delivery <500g (Fully insured up to £1000) I’ll cover difference for sales over £1000 for fully insured Overseas on request . Cheers, Lee
  3. Across the board selection of sales up for grabs, couple of Detroit and some choice West Coasters….. Happy to send additional images or sound files where needed. PM any questions or to reserve. Ron Keith – Gotta go by what you tell me – A&M 274 M- £225 (70s smooth soul, comes with Japanese picture sleeve) Shelly Fisher - Girl I Love You - Dalya 5002 M- £300 (Another early 70s gem, out of Hollywood) Imaginations - Strange Neighbourhood - Fraternity 1001 Promo Ex- £350 (Male group classic, heard a slower version from an acetate recently, that was great, either way a class track. Has some marks that don’t sound like they affect play, so visually maybe Vg+/Ex- but nothing that detracts from an Ex play, top label shows ring wear and red X. Sound file on request) Steve Mancha – Friday night – Groovesville 1004 DJ M- £400 (Typical gruff Detroit vocals on what is a hard to find 45 in this condition, normally they are beaten up) Jock Mitchell – Not a chance in a million – Impact 1023 WD M- £1100 (Duke Browner crafted Detroit excellence on a splendid condition demo) Rubin – You’ve been away – Kapp 869 WD Ex £750 (Thumping dancer. Just a few light lines, and almost hard to notice sticker mark over Red A) Larry Laster – Go for yourself – Loma 2043 WD M- £350 (Ever popular dancer, same backing as Larry Atkins – Lighten up. Is Larry L one and the same as Larry A or am I well behind the identity scandal?) Curtis Lee – Is she in your town – Mira 240 WD M- £1000 (Whenever I spin this, I see that black and white movie trailer for NS Obsession, lovely promo, harder to find than the blue stock) Ronnie & Robyn - Sidra’s Theme – Sidra 9007 Ex+ £300 (Iconic instrumental, still brings images of full dance floors to mind. Drill hole) Pamela Beaty – Talking Eyes – Tip 1018 WD M- £500 (Jimmy Holiday and King Floyd involvement in this classy femme dancer, which is in top shape) PayPal by friends or add 4% please, or I can send bank details. Postage: £8.95 – Special Delivery <500g (Fully insured up to £750) £11.95 – Special Delivery <500g (Fully insured up to £1000) I’ll cover difference for sales over £1000 for fully insured Overseas on request Cheers, Lee
  4. Lovely gaggle of soulful oldies up for grabs ……. Happy to send additional images or sound files where needed. PM any questions or to reserve. George Carrow – Angel baby – Columbia 44161 WD M- £65 (Lovely demo copy of this staple Northern dancer) Liz Lands – Midnight Johnny – Gordy 7030 Promo Ex £110 (A lovely purple west coast promo, and harder to find than the very desirable white promos which are fetching £150. Clean undistorted clear SILVER text labels on top side (ignore the photo, see the scan), minor ring wear on flip label, some storage marks on the surface but they do not affect play) Betty Boo – Say it isn’t so – Grapevine 125 Demo M- £100 (If only this made a US release, what a record, as so many that originate from acetates are) Rubin – You’ve been away – Kapp 869 WD Ex £750 (Thumping dancer. Just a few light lines, and almost hard to notice sticker mark over Red A) Patti & Emblems – I’m gonna love you a long, long time – Kapp 897 Ex+ £1250 (Premier Northern dancer that has all the right things in the right place! I can remember only being able to read about it, given its Unicorn status, but I have been a handful have surfaced for sale over the years, but it still remains right up there amongst the hardest Black Stock copies to find. One light handling mark on top side, plays lovely) Darrell Banks – Open the door to your heart / Our love is in the pocket – Revilot 201 WD Ex+ £120 (Superb double-sider, a very tiny date in biro on ‘open’ side, provenance, LOL) Rose Battiste – Hit and run / I miss my baby – Revilot 204 WD Ex+ £600 (Another double header of epic proportions, a very tiny date in biro on ‘miss’ side, further provenance, LOL) Naomi Wilson – Gotta find a way – Swan 4227 WD M- £75 (Loads of soul on this label, powerhouse femme dancer, all but a Detroit tune given its a Popcorn Wylie and Correc-Tone links) Sheila Ferguson – Heartbroken memories – Swan 4234 WD M- £350 (One of the most collectable on the label, awesome tune) Billy Keene – Wishing and hoping – Vault 943 WD Ex £180 (Such a catchy fulsome soul number on what I'm sure is the rarest release format, which has seen DISCOGs sales exceed this. Minor wear to the labels but still great on the eye) PayPal by friends or add 4% please, or I can send bank details. Postage: £5.20 – UK Tracked and Signed 24 Hour <750g (Insured to £150) £8.95 – Special Delivery <500g (Fully insured up to £750) £11.95 – Special Delivery <500g (Fully insured up to £1000) Overseas on request Cheers, Lee
  5. A couple of classic white promos up for grabs… Happy to send additional images or sound files, PM any questions or to reserve. Performers – I can’t stop you – Mirwood 5535 WD M- £75 (All the hallmarks on this West Coast dancer, produced by Henry ‘Hank’ Graham, otherwise known as Sir Graham, and performed by brothers Bobby, Kenny and Scobie Scarbrough. Mirwood a very prominent Northern collectors label of course. This is the harder first take 68-3155. Small ink stamp 27 on one label) Sheila Ferguson – Heartbroken memories – Swan 4234 WD M- £350 (Swan boasted some stunning female artists, and this track is a standout tune, with delightful vocals. Sheila released 3 45s on the label before moving onto bigger things with the 3 Degrees) PayPal by friends please or add 4%, or bank transfer. Postage: £8.95 – Special Delivery <500g (Fully insured up to £750) Or this: £5.20 – UK Tracked and Signed 24 Hour <750g (Insured to £150) Overseas on request. Cheers, Lee
  6. A near perfect copy of a Northern anthem up for grabs grabs….. Happy to send additional images or sound files where needed. PM any questions or to reserve. Youth Opportunity Program – Of hopes and dreams and tombstones – Columbia 43407 WD NM £1000 Could be a Gareth Southgate post-match summary, but in reality its Jimmy Fraser providing the vocals for a 60s US Government program to encourage the youth of another time and place to extend their education. No idea what success it had then, probably go down like a lead balloon here now, but from the day of its discovery it has gone on to and still fills the floors at all the best Northern venues right across the world. I don’t often say it, but you won’t see a better copy, clean vinyl, near mint, clean labels, unblemished. Just a tiny nick on the edge of the instrumental sides outer edge at 5 o’clock, easily cued to avoid it if you fancy the non-vocal, does not affect stunning playback. Seen Vg+ copies offered at the same price, without the historic sleeve, which will accompany this copy. Sleeve is Ex, minor creases, some dirt on label from storage and the date Sep 65 penned on to clarify what year. Fab record, top condition, rare sleeve, how often does does everything fall in place? PayPal by friends please or add 4%, or bank transfer. Postage: £11.95 – Special Delivery <500g (Fully insured up to £1000) Overseas on request Cheers, Lee
  7. Added soundfiles for "no trespassing" in my post above, one at normal speed and one slowed down a tad
  8. The Sisters 3 45 on side 1. I missed the 45 with photo in auction, ended up with the disc only! Would have loved that photo in my album, but timings everything..... Normal speed Slowed down Heres the flip with soundfile, both covers of Marvelettes tracks, probably stands to reason it was never gonna sell big and turn up in numbers
  9. Happy to send additional images or sound files where needed. PM any questions or to reserve. Inverts – Time will change – Broadway 404 WD Ex £750 Fabulous NY dancer, superb lead vocals from Sherry (Geraldine Toomer) backed by sumptuous punctuating male backing. Vinyl and labels in great shape. PayPal by friends please or add 4%, or bank transfer. Postage: £8.95 – Special Delivery <500g (Fully insured up to £750) Overseas on request Cheers, Lee
  10. Tasty selection of soulful gems, some under the radar, all in great condition and up for grabs ……. Happy to send additional images or sound files where needed. PM any questions or to reserve. Evie Sands – Picture me gone – Cameo 413 M- £60 (Quintessential femme northern dancer, such an uplifting track. On that beautifully designed red and black label with brooch. Drill hole) Rufus Lumley – I’m standing – Holton 5001 M- £300 (Thumping dancer on the machine stamped original) Otis Brown – Find somebody new – Lujuna 10655 Ex £100 (The writer’s own version, same as the Soulettes on Dud Sound, light pink label issue) Spyder Turner – I can’t make it anymore / Don’t hold back – MGM 13692 M- £85 (Double sider of epic proportions, harder demo) Brenda & Boys – I’m on the right track – Motor 765 M- £125 (2 Motown style dancers, with Brenda Holloway on vocals and production by Frank Wilson. Unofficial west coast release of only 50 copies from around 1995) Ronnie Rae and the Dynamics – Funky shuffle – R.J.R 702 M- £100 (Ignore the title, it’s got a funky edge but it ain’t “Agadoo”. Tidy little dancer) Naomi Wilson – Gotta find a way – Swan 4227 WD M- £100 (Hard number to pick up on the label, forceful femme dancer) Soundbreakers – Trying to get back to you – Symbol 220 WD M- £125 (Group soul, 2xol) Dontells – Nothing but nothing / In your heart – Vee-Jay 666 WD M- £40 (Superb double sider, feintest ring wear on labels) PayPal by friends please or add 4%, or bank transfer. Postage: £4.60 – 1st Class Signed for <250g (Insured to £20 only, buyer’s choice) £8.95 – Special Delivery <500g (Fully insured up to £750) £11.95 – Special Delivery <500g (Fully insured up to £1000) Or this, which I have only just been introduced to! £5.20 – UK Tracked and Signed 24 Hour <750g (Insured to £150) £6.20 – UK Tracked and Signed 24 Hour <2kg (Insured to £150) Overseas on request Cheers, Lee
  11. Just the one beauty for today, which for obvious reasons considered putting up for offers but opted for set sale……. Always happy to send additional images and sound files. Saints – I’ll let you slide / Love can be – Wigwam 3907 M- £3000 Fantastic double sider out of Greensboro(?), North Carolina and appears to be only one of 2 releases on the tiny Wigwam label, and still not clear with catalogue numbers wildly different. The label credits offer very little insight into those who had a hand in it, so much so, I originally mistook ‘Jimmy Barnes’ on the Sue label with the writer ‘Jimmy Branch’ but ‘Branch’ is unreported anywhere I can find, as is one producer ‘Syd Vann’, the other though, ‘Charles O. Johnson’ is much more visible as the owner of the Goldleaf label, out of Rocky Mount, NC, made familiar to Northern fans by the ‘Chuck Wells – Love knot’ release, so with this in mind perhaps Wigwam is a subsidiary of Goldleaf? I am sure as my notes always do we’ll tease out more knowledge from the well-informed. ‘Slide’ of course is the sought after and played side, a classy mid-tempo crossover group dancer. The flip ‘Love can be’ though, does it for me, a superb slightly offbeat not quite sweet, not quite lowrider, but tantalisingly good mid-tempo groover that needs more air time please! Original of course, and graded mint minus with just the lightest storage / sleeve lines visible under strong light, but looks fabulous to me, plays superb, labels immaculate. No trades, sorry. PayPal friends or add 4% please, alternatively bank transfer. UK fully insured shipping included. Overseas please ask for postage rate. Cheers, Lee
  12. Another sweet selection of soulful gems, some under the radar, all in great condition and up for grabs ……. Happy to send additional images or sound files where needed. PM any questions or to reserve. Spellbinders – Help me – Columbia 43830 WD Ex+ £75 (Classic in tip top condition) Eric Lomax – Seven the loser – Columbia 44918 WD Ex+ £175 (Another great major label dancer, date on label) Soulettes – Find somebody new – Dud Sound 4719 M- £400 (Stunning Chicago masterclass, mid-tempo dancer, and IMO in the same league as the Seashells – Quiet home) Otis Brown – Find somebody new – Lujuna 10655 Ex £125 (The writers version of the Soulettes above, light pink label issue) Brenda & Boys – I’m on the right track – Motor 765 M- £125 (2 Motown style dancers, with Brenda Holloway on vocals and production by Frank Wilson. Unofficial west coast release of only 50 copies from around 1995) Fantastic Four – Can’t stop looking for my baby – Ric-Tic 121 M- £150 (All time classic, in great shape for a Detroit record that’s nearly always beaten up) Showmen – In paradise / Take it baby – Swan 4213 WD M- £30 (Their cheaper but superb double sider) Naomi Wilson – Gotta find a way – Swan 4227 WD M- £100 (Hard number to pick up on the label, forceful femme dancer) Soundbreakers – Trying to get back to you – Symbol 220 WD M- £125 (Group soul, 2xol) Dontells – Nothing but nothing / In your heart – Vee-Jay 666 WD M- £40 (Superb double sider, feintest ring wear on labels) PayPal by friends please or add 4%, or bank transfer. £5.20 – UK Tracked and Signed 24 Hour <750g (Insured to £150) £6.20 – UK Tracked and Signed 24 Hour <2kg (Insured to £150) Overseas on request . Cheers, Lee Fisher
  13. A brilliant selection of household tracks, some would say anthems, all in great condition and up for grabs ……. Apologies for not presenting the images in my normal way with vinyl on show, but happy to send additional images or sound files where needed later today, that’s said ALL are in quoted conditions or better. PM any questions or to reserve. Jackie Lee – Darkest days – ABC 11146 WD M- £250 (What more can you ask for, Northern to a tee) Jackie Wilson – Because of you – Brunswick 55495 WD Ex £175 (One of the best voices around, cracking late in his career crossover) Rufus Lumley – I’m standing – Holton 5001 M- £300 (Thumping dancer on the machine stamped original) Spyder Turner – I can’t make it anymore / Don’t hold back – MGM 13692 M- £100 (Double sider of epic proportions, harder demo) Hal Frazier – After closing time – Reprise 0570 Ex+ dh £175 (Powerhouse dancer, much rarer stock copy, where you gonna find another? Drill hole) Chuck Wood – Seven days is too long – Roulette 4754 Ex+ £150 (Out and out dancer, slight wave on edge DNAP) Ray Pollard – It’s a sad thing – UA 50012 Ex+ £150 (One of the best beat ballads, on gorgeous stock copy) Apollas – Mr Creator – WB 5893 M- WD £150 (Girl group excellence on a gorgeous demo) PayPal by friends please or add 4%, or bank transfer Postage: £4.60 – 1st Class Signed for <250g (Insured to £20 only, buyer’s choice) £8.95 – Special Delivery <500g (Fully insured up to £750) £11.95 – Special Delivery <500g (Fully insured up to £1000) Or this, which I have only just been introduced to! £5.20 – UK Tracked and Signed 24 Hour <750g (Insured to £150) £6.20 – UK Tracked and Signed 24 Hour <2kg (Insured to £150) Overseas on request Cheers, Lee
  14. Reduced to sell….. Bobby Paris – I walked away – Capitol 5929 Promo M- £475 now £425 (Supercharged oldie that makes the hairs stand up on the back of your neck) Skip Jackson & Shantons – I'm on to you girl – Dot-Mar 224 M- £375 now £325 (Lush northern dancer that’s built credibility, but PLEASE spare some time for the equally superb crossover flip “Promise you will wait”, penned by Skip. You can’t beat 2 for the price of one. 45s in lovely shape) PayPal by friends please or add 4%, or bank transfer. £8.95 – Special Delivery <500g (Fully insured up to £750) Overseas on request Cheers, Lee
  15. Here’s my early June offerings, don’t sleep, there’s some stunning things here……. Happy to send additional images or sound files, PM any questions or to reserve. Bobby Paris – I walked away – Capitol 5929 Promo M- £475 (Supercharged oldie that makes the hairs stand up on the back of your neck. Fabulous copy) Skip Jackson & Shantons – I'm on to you girl – Dot-Mar 224 M- £375 (Lush northern dancer that’s built credibility, but PLEASE spare some time for the equally superb crossover flip “Promise you will wait”, penned by Skip. You can’t beat 2 for the price of one. 45s in lovely shape) Venturas – Heart of love – Green Light 832 Ex+ £875 (Outstanding Chicago dancer on a 45 that’s remained hard to find. Finger popping drum and horn laden intro, rich lead vocals coupled with sublime male group harmonies, this guy’s got more in the locker. Detroit and Chicago 45s of distinction are often beaten up, this one however is a hairs breadth away from overall mint minus, but the Lowrider flip “Calling you baby” shows a couple of handling marks) Exits – Another sundown in Watts – Kapp 2028 WD Ex+ £1000 (You can understand why this outstanding double sider is so good, don’t with a who’s who of Soul royalty on board, Jimmy Conwell, Sir (Hank) Graham, Godoy Colbert, Gene Page and Arthur Wright all over the credits) Gambrell’s – Jive talk – Pioneer 2109 WD M- £450 (Renowned Detroit girl group of Pat Hunt, and sisters Sharon and Sandra Gambrell, famous for “You better move” on Carla Records, are at their catchy, vibrant, glorious best with “Jive Talk”, serving up an exceptional dancer on Gary Rubins Pioneer label. Presented on what must be a pretty rare white DJ copy) Billy Miranda – You could’ve had a good thing going – Queens 721 M- £1250 (So desirable, but so elusive, yet totally brilliant oldie, the top side and absolute classic, and yet another that sports a fantastic flip side “Count the tear drops” a big-voiced beat ballad likened to the style of Roy Hamilton. Vinyl looks great, the labels have the feintest wear, which I find typically visual with gold labels) Ronnie Rae and the Dynamics – Funky shuffle – R.J.R 702 M- £125 (Ignore the title, it’s got a funky edge but it ain’t “Agadoo”. Tidy little dancer) Jim & Lee- Let go, baby – Smash 2112 M- £225 (I’ve read this may have been an old Stafford cover up, and one of the hardest Northern 45s to turn up on the Smash label. Catchy up-tempo dancer on the rich red stock label. The song writer George Davis has form, having given us “The boy from New York city”. 45s in top condition apart from a couple of lines on the flip, but TBH to my ears you won’t be going there!) Roy Handy – Baby that's a groove – Stephanye 334 WD M- £100 (Popular Detroit dancer, nice in demo format) Fabulous Nu-Tones – Our love was destined to be – White House 5002 M- £500 (Re-released on the Swing City label for William “Smoke” Howard’s appearance at Prestatyn in 2009. The original is very hard to come by that’s for sure, and oddly references William as “Honey Dripper”, so maybe a change in career direction after this 1967 Memphis release. The flip’s slow and not up my street, but the top side, wow, we are entering uncharted territory with this superb under the radar male group dancer out of Memphis, its obscure but so familiar, kicking off with those high piano notes, almost the same lead in as the Fantastic 4’s “Can’t stop looking”, and the remainder is as good as many a male group rarity I’ve heard. Clean vinyl, labels and such a fresh accomplished sound. Gorgeous label logo. No picture sleeve which does exist. Saw that a copy was listed in 2013 for £350 Vg-) . PayPal by friends please or add 4%, or bank transfer. Postage: Royal Mail at it again, changed their pricing in April. £4.60 – 1st Class Signed for <250g (Insured to £20 only, buyer’s choice) £8.95 – Special Delivery <500g (Fully insured up to £750) £11.95 – Special Delivery <500g (Fully insured up to £1000) Or this, which I have only just been introduced to! £5.20 – UK Tracked and Signed 24 Hour <750g (Insured to £150) £6.20 – UK Tracked and Signed 24 Hour <2kg (Insured to £150) Overseas on request. Cheers, Lee
  16. Just the one tonight, and what a beauty too! Happy to send additional images or sound files. PM any questions or to reserve. Fabulous Four – If I knew / Everybody’s got have a heart – Peak 16456 M- £200 Fair to say this is better known on the SAINTMO label, but here we have the local release on Peak, which I am sure many will be unfamiliar with. No idea what the story is, but the SAINTMO label release of this stunning double sider was a step change in the short label catalogue. The previous 3 releases, all attributed to the ‘Sounds Four’ were 201, 202, 203, whereas this was numbered 300, and the group became the ‘Fabulous Four’. The owner of SAINTMO and Peak, was Oscar Washington who operated out of St. Louis, Missouri. He met a tragic end, not the usual shooting we occasionally find with the people who brought Northern to us, but seemingly killed off by his son and buried in his own garden! His son after cashing in cheques against Oscars accounts for whole year was killed in a road accident, under what circumstances I have no idea, and a crime was never pinned. Charles was also owner of the Citations – Keep the faith – Ballad label. Both sides are superb Northern tracks, the flipside ‘If I knew’ a mid-paced dancer hanging off group harmonies. The topside, happens to be a very accomplished slowie, ideal for the growing lowrider set, again backed nicely by the group. The few copies to show up on Peak are, on the whole beaten up and with writing on labels to overwrite the Peak label name with SAINTMO. Not seen a sale for a few years, last on FB in 2021 at £200 with graffiti! This copy though is a bobby dazzler, clean vinyl, plays superb and immaculate unblemished labels, look no further for condition, condition, condition, and there won’t be many that can boast this. PayPal by friends please or add 4%, or bank transfer. Postage: £4.45 – 1st Class Signed for <500g (Insured to £50 only, buyers choice) £5.20 – UK Tracked and Signed 24 Hour <750g (Insured to £150) £8.15 – Special Delivery <500g (Fully insured up to £750) Overseas on Request ATB, Lee
  17. A beautiful Northern number to compliment a sun kissed day….. Sound file and additional images available if you want. PM and questions or to reserve. Bobby Paris – I walked away – Capitol 5929 Promo M- £550 Paris throws everything into this supercharged all-nighter sound that will no doubt evoke memories for the vast majority of those that populated venues up and down the country over the years. Fabulous copy, demand remains, even this many years after its maiden play. Lovely little piece of history comes with it in the form of a ‘New Single Release Information sheet!’ I’ve seen similar things for other 45s, but not this 45. What a great pairing. PayPal by friends please or add 4% please, or I can send bank details. Postage: £8.95 - Special Delivery (Fully insured up to £750) Overseas on Request Cheers, Lee

Beautiful emerald green labels, sweet vinyl, very light edge lift, DNAP) Majestics – (I love ger so much) it hurts me – Linda 121 Promo M- £525 (Outstanding horn laden, Latin tinged, Northern dance floor filler and just about the best label design on the scene. In super condition) Miss Madeline – Behave yourself / Lonely girl – Mar-V-Lus 6019 Ex+ £30 (Superb femme Chicago soul, tasty double sider, take your pick, both sides equally good, win-win) Theola Kilgore – It’s gonna be alright – Mercury 72564 M- £100 (Gerry Goffin and Carole King seal of distinction. Tidy flip as well, on a beautiful red stock copy, with just a drill hole that’s stops me stating its flawless) PayPal by friends please or add 4%, or bank transfer. Postage: Royal Mail at it again, changed their pricing in April, only cottoned onto it now! £4.60 – 1st Class Signed for <250g (Insured to £20 only, buyer’s choice) £8.95 – Special Delivery <500g (Fully insured up to £750) Or this, which I have only just been introduced to! £5.20 – UK Tracked and Signed 24 Hour <750g (Insured to £150) £6.20 – UK Tracked and Signed 24 Hour <2kg (Insured to £150) Overseas on request. 19. Nice little bunch for the end of the month, quality tunes one and all. Happy to send additional images or sound files, PM any questions or to reserve Evie Sands – Picture me gone – Cameo 413 M- £75 (Quintessential femme northern dancer, such an uplifting track. On that beautifully designed red and black label with brooch. Drill hole) Sam & Kitty – I’ve got something good – Four Brothers 452 WD Ex+ £475 (1966 dancer that’s filled every floor for years, and causing one of Northerns biggest assumptions for years, the identity of Kitty, filled by Edith Brown but more recent evidence suggests Katherine Stewart aka Miss Kitty Grove pairing up with Leroy Dandridge. Chicago label, but the rare one, a lined demo pressed a Monarch on the west coast, few and far between these and in gorgeous condition, just a couple of light marks, DNAP) Curtis Liggins Indication – What it is – Kaycee-Soul 102 Promo M- £450 (Short lived band and label. Only 2 releases for the Kansas City scene where the Indications were strutting their stuff. Fabulous lead vocals, a presence that grows as the tracks goes on, overlaid on cool group vocals. Beautiful emerald green labels, sweet vinyl, very light wave on edge, DNAP) Theola Kilgore – It’s gonna be alright – Mercury 72564 M- £100 (Gerry Goffin and Carole King seal of distinction. Tidy flip as well, on a beautiful red stock copy, with just a drill hole that’s stops me stating its flawless) Jackie Shane – In my tenement / Comin’ down – Sue 788 Ex £130 (Double sider on this fabulous eye catching ‘Big apple’ label, and 2 excellent examples of Northern with that R&B flavour. Minimal light marks on vinyl both sides, run-in grazes on Tenement plays fine Ex+. Labels, X on Tenement, radio station stamp imprint on Comin’ label. Plays Excellent plus on both sides. Bell Sound stamped) Velvelettes – These things will keep me loving you – Soul 35025 WD Ex £120 (One of the lushest silkiest smoothest of femme dancers to come out of Motown, and on a rarer west coast demo, just one minor scuff that does not affect play) Velvelettes – Lonely, lonely girl am I / I’m the exception to the rule – V.I.P. 25017 WD Ex+ £200 (East coast vinyl demo, thick lined copy) PayPal by friends please or add 4%, or bank transfer. 20. Lovely little foursome, and I haven’t said that for a while! Happy to send additional images or sound files. PM any questions or to reserve. Dells – Run for cover – Cadet 5551 DJ Ex+ £125 (This group knocked out some top quality soul over many years and this is right up there, floor filler in every respect. 1966 release that sounds every inch crossover. Unusually hard to find DJ copy and in high end condition that I’ve not seen on many sales posts, just minor edge lift that doesn’t affect play) Evie Sands – Picture me gone – Cameo 413 M- £80 (Quintessential femme northern dancer, such an uplifting track. On that beautifully designed red and black label with brooch. Drill hole) Jackie Shane – In my tenement / Comin’ down – Sue 788 Ex £150 (Double sider on this fabulous eye catching ‘Big apple’ label, and 2 excellent examples of Northern with that R&B flavour. Minimal light marks on vinyl both sides, run-in grazes on Tenement plays fine Ex+. Labels, X on Tenement, radio station stamp imprint on Comin’ label. Plays Excellent plus on both sides. Bell Sound stamped format that doesn’t seemed to have sold on DISCOGs) George Freeman – Down and out – Valiant 6039 WD Ex+ £250 (Fabulous big-voiced beat ballad, gotta be right up there in the top 10. Lovely clean demo, just a couple of very light handling / storage lines preventing M-, but it’s a minor visual thing not audio, that’s spot on) PayPal by friends please or add 4%, or bank transfer. Postage: £4.45 – 1st Class Signed for <500g (Insured to £50 only, buyers choice) £8.15 – Special Delivery <500g (Fully insured up to £750) Overseas on request. ATB, Lee

  22. Today’s offering is a sought-after, double-sided, crossover 45. Happy to send additional images or sound file. PM any questions or to reserve. Matt Brown – Thank you baby / Sweet thing M- £750 Macon, Georgia release on Hamp Swains fabulous label full of juicy releases. Just two very light visible handling marks on “thank you” surface but neither affect play in any way. It’s that that stops me calling this an immaculate copy, although the 2 tracks of course are soulfully just that. Mint minus vinyl and labels. PayPal by friends please or add 4%, or bank transfer. Postage: £8.15 – Special Delivery <500g (Fully insured) Overseas on request ATB, Lee
