  3. Nobody mentioned the fab "Pictures of Smoke" or "Take your time" yet?
  4. I'd be interested in: Blank, Rocka Shocka, FED 050 7022 (Hopeton Lewis?) (Indeed it is Hopeton Lewis) Carl Dawkins and The Carib Beats ' Hep Time' / The Rulers 'Well covered' (JJ) WIRL JJ 3188 Are you selling them?
  5. Well Glendevon Special is indeed rather Rocksteady than Reggae but it doesn't really matter to me... but Belly Lick, Reggae Girl or Been So Long????? You can't say Rocksteady as a genre can't be beaten by any Reggae tunes... There are hundreds of great tracks after 75(I know Pete doens't like anything after 71 or so ) which have the same power(Jr Gong, Nicodemus, Super Cat etc.etc.) as Ska/Rocksteady tunes. Trevor & The Maytones boring? The A Side is great (Have you time) and imho the B side is even better. It has everything a good track needs: Plenty of bass, good rhythm and singing. By the way 95% of all Torpedo records are just utter crap and the Hot Rod all stars were probably the most untalented band in the world. Same for bands like The Setters, Hippy Boys or The Corporation... After all it's just a matter of taste.
  6. I know it's pretty scarce which doesn't make it good... There's one known copy of 'The Tickler' which isn't good either. Reggae: Junior Soul - Glendevon Special Trevor & The Maytones - Every Day Is Like A Holiday Derrick Harriott - It's Alright Dennis Walks - Belly Lick Roman Stewart - While I Was Walking Ska/Rocksteady: Alton Ellis - Mouth A Massy Alva Lewis - Hang my head Ferdie Nelson - Lonely & Blue Boy Don Drummond - China Town Hopeton Lewis - Cool Cool Collie Junior Soul - Miss Cushie My taste probably changes within a week, but that's what I like right now. it's much harder to make a good list on ska/rocksteady because there are soooooo many great tunes... Reggae is easier because I don't like most of that organ overkill "skinhead" tunes. I'm mainly into '68, Derrick Harriott, George Murphy, Duke Reid and of course Coxsone productions. Soul: Eddie Kendricks - Date With The Rain NA Allen - Thanks For Nothing Wild Sound Unlimited - I Know You Claude Huey - Drifting Montclairs - Unwanted Love Impalas - Speed Up Soul is much harder for me, there are just too many tunes to pick (Northern or Modern, I like both). I'm listening Soul for something like 1.5 years or so but been into Motown etc. for some time now.
  7. Honestly IMHO this is one of the worst, overrated and most overpriced records in Reggae history Not my cup of tea at all...
  8. Is the Impalas still on hold? /E: Just seen that this thread is a couple of months old, haha.
  9. I'm having here a spare one, JA or Big Shot. PM if interested.

  11. Seen for about 20£. Any spare ones? VG+ to Mint accepted
  12. The JA blank is a quite common one, bought my VG+ copy for 5£. Look out at ebay but don't overpay as mentioned, some guys pay 75£ for a minter
  13. Thanks, slightly more than I expected for a VG+ copy. I'll look out a little bit more, else I pick this one.
