  1. It wasn't 'Shades of Soul', it was 'Soulful Kinda Music' following an interview I did with Don Mancha. You can read the interview here:
  2. There hasn't been a price hike this year, it's the same outrageous amount it was last year The first year the tables were free, then it went to £50, then £80 plus VAT which works out at £94.00. If they could afford to do the tables free the first year when less people attended, you'd have thought the price would have stayed the same, it's just greed by Pontins.
  3. Not wishing to blatently hijack this thread, but that's what I'm going to do anyway as people have already confirmed that Shades is due soon Issue 65 of Soulful Kinda Music is available now (Subscriber's copies will be going out in the post next week). PM me for more details, and also for the details of the exclusive interview that's in the mag.
  4. That's a ridiculous statement that contradicts itself. How can a record be the world's rarest 'unknown' soul record ? By definition, someone has to know about it.
  5. Only if you don't cook them properly
  6. It was one of the Winsford Anniversary singles.
  7. That the number of Artist Discographies on the Soulful Kinda Music site has just passed the 500 mark. Thanks to anyone who has supplied any information in the past, keep it coming, 1,000 is the next target
  8. Surely the demo graphics depend what the label is, but usually they are the same as the issue but with a white label and black text
  9. Possibly Tommy Hunt's version on UK Spark. That was faster than Harold Melvin
  10. So can I I remember when he sang it on stage he saw someone taping the show and said "This guy will be a millionaire"
  11. Kent 073 - Chuck Jackson - A Powerful Soul and CDKEND 935 - Chuck Jackson - Good Things Never a 100 Club single, and previously unreleased till Kent put it out
  12. Michael & Silke ran a live webcam at the last Turnin' Your Heart beat Up weekender they promoted in Nuremburg. It worked very successfully as well
  13. But I'm not a witness to anything. I have been told what happened. It's not a case of saying it's not my problem, more a case of not being able to effectively do anything to help.
  14. Killer also knows who stole his records, and has had the vast majority returned. It's his decision as to whether the Police are involved, not mine.
  15. I thnk the law would say they belong to Killer, and even though the people who bought them did so without knowing they were stolen it's just tough, the records belonged to killer in the first place and they were sold after they had been stolen from him. As I said though, it's tough on the people who paid for the records, they didn't know they were stolen and God knows money for records is hard enough to come by anyway. I suspect that the only way it will be resolved to every one's satisfaction is if the Police were involved, then at least a successful prosecution could include compensation for the records that were sold, so killer could either let the people keep the records, or buy them back from the people who had paid for them. And yes, I live in the West Midlands, and know who stole them, and who sold the records on the theif's behalf without knowing they were stolen, and I know some of the people who bought them (And I wasn't one of them) So I can see where Joe is going with the ethics question, and I don't have an answer. We all have our own feelings on what we might do if placed in this situation, but I can't tell other people what to do. It's up to their own conscience and finances.
  16. So you did. Mised it in Chalky's reply. Ta.
  17. Well you could have actually said who sold you the Lonnie Lester
  18. This is the best Shrine one I could find
  19. 101 - Marv Johnson - Come To Me / Whisper - 1959 102 - Eddie Holland - Merry-Go-Round / It Moves Me - 1959 54022 - Barrett Strong - Let's Rock / Let's Rock - 1960 54023 - Chico Leverette - Solid Sender / I'll Never Love Again - 1959 54024 - Swinging Tigers - Snake Walk - Part 1 / Snake Walk - Part 2 - 1960 54025 - Ron and Bill - It / Don't Say Bye Bye - 1960 54026 - The Satintones - Motor City / Going To The Hop - 1960 54027 - Barrett Strong - Money (That's What I Want) / Oh I Apologize - 1960 But I don't think any of them have been bootlegged
  20. I agree with Chalky on that. The only way to discover which copy you have in your hand is to actually play it.
  21. As a previous winner of the DJ Dancing competition at Cleethorpes (and you can examine the cup, my name is inscribed there) you'll understand why I don't dance more often. In fact I have been known to dance on the Sunday night at Cleethorpes, admittedly in one direction because I was drunk and couldn't work out how to go back the other way if you know what I mean.
