  2. But Pete's not removed his so we can all still see it
  3. Have to say that's the case with me. For a few years now I've not bought any records in November or December and used the money for Christmas instead.
  4. I know someone who bought one of those. They sold it to me for £90 a couple of years ago, I sold it on for a bit more
  5. That's the one I use for my sales stuff
  6. That's a bit soulful for you isn't it
  7. Bob, I will certainly be adding a link to the Soulful Kinda Music site as soon as I do my next update. awesome stuff on your site, it should reach a much wider audience, it deserves it.
  8. Right, this is the last reduction. It either sells at £225, or I keep it. Pm me before midnight Sunday if you want this rare classy Detroit recording
  9. Thanks Sean. I will hold my hands up and say I was in the wrong, and did apologise to Sean by PM. Had a bad day, well more than one, and shouldn't have had a pop at him. Top man

  13. Last chance on this one. I've knocked a further £50 off the price, and it can be collected tonight at the NSC allnighter if you bring the cash.
  14. Well yes, it did develop from a reply that i wrote to Jamie.......
  15. Tony is always in the middle of moving He's had more addresses than years on the earth
  16. What's actually the highest number of views of a topic (Excluding those looney tunes in freebasing !!!) This monster I created appears to be averaging nearly 80 views an hour, every hour over the past 48 hours.
  17. I would say in terms of vinyl 45s I am now a DJ only. Simply because I only buy records to DJ with, in other words, I don't collect records. However, in terms of collecting the music I love on any format, I'm as bad as anyone else, just I collect CDs. It took me a long time to come to this way of thinking though, but the realisation that almost anything I want to listen to is available on CD (Even if it's from a mate), and I very rarely play records at home (because I can't be bothered getting up every three minutes), meant that money I spent on records for my collection, that then sat in a box never played, could be spent on more expensive records for my DJ box. So, to DJ with, I buy records, and when I buy something new for the play box, I sell something out of the play box to pay for it. To listen to at home, I buy CDs (Over 2000 at the last count) I would say though that it took me a long time to break the collecting habit, and on several occasions have gone through a sort of relapse and started collecting odd things again. At one point I decided to collect look-alike bootlegs. Then when I'd bought a few thought what the hell am I doing ? I would never DJ with them, I would never play them at home, why was I buying them ! I have every respect for collectors though. I would love to have the time and money and devotion that they have in collecting records. I'ts just that when I came to make the decision to DJ or collect because I couldn't do both, DJing won for me. I'd also like to think that I made the right decision because because I've averaged over 50 bookings a year for the last four years, and I'm sure wouldn't have managed that many if I hadn't concentrated my money at my DJ box.
  18. Whilst I'm in an argumentative mood today...... WTF does that mean: 'Real Deal' Or is this what the other thread was refering to when it talked about real Soulies. If Soul essence is the Real Deal (And this isn't a dig at Soul Essence, not my sort of thing, but have every respect for the event and the promoters) what does that mean Prestatyn is ? Not the real deal ? Grow up
  19. Thick as well then Just for you Simon, here's a definition: a self-seeking, servile flatterer; fawning parasite. Come on Roger, don't be shy. What's your view on Kev Robert's claim to have created the music ?
  20. Nice of you to join in Roger. So what's your view of Kev Robert's claim to have created the music in the popular KFC ads ? It's clear the other sycophant doesn't have anything to add of value, but perhaps you do ?
  21. Stop trying to muddy the waters Simon.
  22. James, I'd love to take you up on your fine offer, but something keeps stopping me, I remember what it is now..............I'm not a complete Made me laugh though In fairness to Mick, he has already rung to apologise and we have come to an arrangement, so unless someone is desperate to buy the record in the next day or two, it's going back in my box
  23. By the ommission of the fact that they weren't shown. Therefore they couldn't have been 'popular' I've no problem with what Smithy says, that's accurate, but to claim he created the music is just downright rubbish. he didn't create the music at all. Here's the part it's in Kev Roberts's BlurbsAbout me: In the Entertainment industry-34 years. I became a DJ working at the famous Wigan Casino. Later producing a string of well known Soul artists such as EDWIN STARR, LINDA LEWIS, JUNIOR WALKER, MAI-TAI etc. Spent many years in Radio and currently CEO of VIP Radio(Sky Channel 0196) www.vipradio.net I wrote the book 'Northern Soul Top 500' and promote events all over the UK and USA. Created the music for the popular KFC TV Ads. TV Appearances on ITV, CH4 , CH5, and SKY. You can find out more at www.goldsoul.co.uk to find classic soul music and my own pages at www.kevroberts.com
