O´jays - I´ll Never Forget You - White Promo?
The all white copies say 'Audition Record', the green and yellow copies say 'Demonstration Record', and obviously the issues are black and green. They go in that order of value as well, obviously descending from the white one. I have no idea how many white ones there are around, but Nidge is right, you don't see them very often at all. If I get chance later I'll scan my white label one for you.

Some Rare Things, From My Play Box
I was interested. I asked a question about how off centre it was, and you didn't answer the question, just suggested that I spend the £500 and hoped it was ok, so I'm not interested now. It's all very well saying buy it and see, but I'm not prepared to do that at £500. Sorry.

Fully understand how you feel about this, but it wasn't this that decided me against buying, and it was quite funny.

Personally I'd recommend buying an audio CD recorder, and a re-writeable disc. That's how I do it. Wait until I've got half a dozen tracks to convert, record them on the re-writeable disc, bang it in the PC, rip the tracks to MP3, then wipe the re-writeable disc ready for next time. Superb sound quality every time. Of course it takes longer, isn't as convenient as having a USB deck, and costs a damn sight more, but hey, call me old fashioned, it works for me !

How off centre is 'slightly' ?

The big advantage of the USB decks is that you can just plug them in and go. Recording from any other sort of deck usually requires running the sound through an amplifier as well. Certainly easy to do if you stereo is close at hand, but when I tried doing it with my Numark portable deck and a Creative SB soundcard I couldn't get any sound quality at all. The annoying thing is that it's only when you have bought the gadget, opened it, plugged it all in, fiddled with it, that you find it says in the instructions that some decks will require a pre-amp. I sent the damn thing back. If I have to buy a pre amp I may as well just buy the pre amp and run from the deck to the pre amp and then straight into the PC. So I'm saving pennies for a USB deck as well.

100 Club Niters
Something that occured to me the other day: Who do you reckon, over the 100 Club's illustrious 60 year history, has appeared on stage there the most. I mean, people like George Melly must have done it at leats once a year since it started. Personally, I think the person who has appeared on that stage the most times must be...........Step forward and take a bow......... Mr Adrian Croasdell

Nice one Ken, but when you add P + P to this one it's only £1 different.

6ts 100 Club Jan 20th All Nighter Cancelled
I know it's only a building, but my God, what a building it is. World famous for Jazz, but within our world even more famous as THE venue ! Like others, I've always thought that to DJ at the 100 Club, was the pinnacle, you couldn't get any higher. I've been fortunate enough to be a guest there at least once a year for probably the last ten years nearly, and I've loved every minute of it. When I set my DJing diary up for the year, the 100 Club dates always go in as well, and in the past I've actually turned bookings down because I wanted to go as a punter to the 100. Such a loss. So if that's how we are feeling, I can't imagine how Ady feels. Knowing Ady though I'm sure he'll dust himself off, get back up, and as he says, move the 6Ts to another venue. After all, it was the 6Ts Rhythm & Soul Club that we attended, in a building that happened to be called the 100 Club. Onwards, and upwards (Jacks is ground level not a cellar)

So What Makes A Good Dj
But what does dancing have to do with being a good DJ ? Are you saying only DJs that dance can be a good DJ ? If so why ? There's no logical correlation between the two things, because obviously if you had to dance to be a good DJ, everyone who dances would be a good DJ, and that just isn't the case is it. I gave up dancing years ago when I discovered that a night's dancing left me virtually unable to walk the next day, it just wasn't worth it. But, although I say it myself, I consider myself to be a good DJ. I don't promote any venues, so don't have my own event to DJ at, and can't offer anyone a spot in return if you know what I mean, so the 50+ bookings I get every year are based purely on my abilities as a DJ. I'm not claiming to be the best DJ around, or that I have the best, and rarest records, and acknowledge that there will be people who don't like my DJing style, or my choice of music, and occasionally I get it wrong, and screw up completely (Not very often though, fortunately). But, I know when I've done a bad spot as much as the other people in the venue do, because I feel crap about it. Fortunately I think I get it right nearly all the time, and this is evidenced by the repeat bookings that promoters give me, at a variety of venues, large and small, home and in Europe. So the ability to dance has no bearing whatsoever on whether someone is a good DJ, does it !

So What Makes A Good Dj
Under the current system it is the venue which has to have a ppl, although the website doesn't make this crystal clear.
