Totally different emphasis than the post Phil started this thread with Max. he asked for people's views, and got them.
  2. When I thought about doing this I realised that I had individual artist discographies for nearly all the artists on Curtom, so I pulled them together and filled the gaps in. So here's a fairly complete US Curtom singles discography HTH

Hi Ken, Does that mean she can only play 'em halfway through then, and what would your reaction be if she sold her half without telling you

There are already plenty of good girlie DJs out there, who have their own records, and they are getting DJ spots around the country, and they are deserved spots as well. Especially as they get more bookings when people have heard them DJ. I've always supported girls DJing, and in fact said Karen Crane did the best spot at the recent Aquarius niter to my ears, and said Liana did the best spot at Winsford two weeks ago. Sian's also right about the girls who have DJ'ed in the Freestyle room at Rugby, they all got the spots because they had the records, their own records, and wanted to DJ, and proved they could do it as well as the blokes! Cookie is right about the 100 Club nights as well, you do get a better variety of music on the all girl line up. No offense meant to those wives who have volunteered, but if you really want to DJ, start collecting your own records and don't start DJing until you have enough to do a spot, otherwise you are just demeaning the efforts of all the other girls who have collected, and competed, against the blokes. Anyway, girlies look prettier, and tend to smell nicer, behind the decks

  14. Hmm, except the footage of dancers is from Wigan Casino, Bradford Queens Hall, and Stafford Top Of The World. Then half way through, after Jazzie B has said we are all racists, it moves onto Ska ! This was broadcast (as a repeat) as part of the BBC 4 Soul Weekender, and was, originally, if I remember correctly the second part of a three part series on Black music in Britain. (There again I may be getting it confused with another programme) To be honest, the footage on Northern had all been seen before in previous TV documentaries anyway, so the programme was neither original, or factual. Thanks for posting it up though, it did give me a laugh to see Jazzie B trying to explain why he didn't manage to get involved in these "parties".
  15. Sean It's good to see you have retained your sense of humour after the devastating couple of weeks you've had. Make him pay for the beer all night...that'll really hurt him
  16. Yes that's correct. I typed a couple in and realised I'd made a mistake, when I went back the info that loaded was mine (Inclluding the mistake ). Unless of course it just pulled the info from a cached page on my PC.
  17. Well if he'd got a rubber suit on all he needed was a snorkel and he'd have been fully equipped for the conditions.
  18. American friend my arse, you want it for your next DJ spot
  19. Well I thought it was
  20. Pretty sure this actually got a UK release as a B side on the blue and silver consolidated series.
  21. Hi Sebastian, At a cost of over $800 ! I don't think so. If I could have bought each one as it was released I would probably have done it, but as soon as they stopped accepting orders from UK addresses that was it, and I'm not now prepared to play catch up. Their loss, as well as mine.
  22. Rather obvious question....but have you tried Derek Pearson ?
  23. Yeah, it's just such a pity that HMV couldn't have got their act together when Vol 1 was released so that we could buy it here in the UK. Because of the difficulties in obtaining the early sets, I never bothered, and now don't want to start playing catch up.
  24. From memory Donna, it was me that gave Ady the video tape with it on, I don't think he taped it at the time. I'm not sure if we just gave him the tape or made a copy. If we made a copy I'm sure we could come to some amicable agreement, I'm easily bribed with beer
