As someone who has DJ'ed in mainland Europe (Before Kenny tells me that we are part of Europe ) for over ten years, and loved every minute of it, and I'll be DJing in France and Germany again before the end of the year, I'm hardly going to be putting the 'Little Englander' attitude across, at least not until we talk about football . And again, the only thing that could be read into what I actually said was that I wouldn't presume to make assumptions about the whole of the UK Northern Soul scene, despite having lived here all my life, the implication in that being that Boba shouldn't make those assumptions either (Especially as he is basing his assumptions on an incorrect premise that the scene in Europe is bigger than the scene in the UK). I'd be grateful if you could point to the part of my post that was "factually wrong" though. However I will admit I possible was carrying that over from the initial post so may have been harsh in my judgment. And I didn't say that in any way shape or form. In fact artists weren't even mentioned in my post, just records. I genuinely am puzzled as to what you are referring to ? In fact I've just gone back and read my post again, and at no point did I question Boba's knowledge of Black American music, or any of the work he does through his radio show and the interviews he does. I questioned his knowledge of the Northern Soul scene, in the UK and in the rest of Europe, whcih is something you also did !!

Vers.) - 1977 It may well be that this is just a demo of 002, but it might be the missing number. Either way, if it does have the different version, it's another one for you to search for

ha ha, I've stayed out of this one because it's fairly obvious where I stand on the question.....but here's my view anyway. A good DJ will use the mic to his advantage, personally I think it's an essential piece of kit when you 'work the floor'. You can easily just play records when the floor is busy, or if you don't care whether the floor is busy or not, but I'm firmly in the camp of believing people want to dance and have a good time, and be entertained. That's what they have paid their money on the door for. so if using the mic helps create that atmosphere, helps fill the dancefloor, and aids you as a DJ to fill the dancefloor it's a must. I also use the mic on very, very rare occasions to take the piss out of mates On the even rarer occasion that I cock up behind the decks I also use the mic to take the piss out of myself but some people can waffle on too much, and I certainly try to avoid doing that because I know it can spoil the flow of a set. It is though, a personal choice, and I've heard some great sets from people who never pick the mic up, that's just not my style though. And I do agree that it is the most scary part of DJing when you first start out. Cough sweets, I don't need cough sweets, I just need plenty of beer !

The obvious thing is that the W/D says 'Audition Record' and the coloured demo says 'Demonstration Record' from memory. Other than that, no difference at all except in the price, the W/D is a lot rarer than the coloured one, and commands a much higher price. Both of the demos are rarer than an issue.

If you get offered two at that price, I'll take the other one
