  1. And I've returned the compliment by copying your EPs / Gusto / and Horaces back onto SKM
  2. Don't know if this has been posted before, but for those of you with an interest in Southern Soul, and just recording studios in general here's an interesting site Playground Recording Studios
  3. OK, you shamed me into it The complete list of Kent / Kent Select, and 100 Club singles can now be found here Kent Singles
  4. Think it was previously unreleased except as a reissue album track
  5. Dave Welding had one in his sales box on Saturday. He's on Soul Source (but I think always posts as Louise)
  6. Who said anything about getting pissed up at a niter, apart from you and your vodka incident I don't think anyone has mentioned it. I can drink quite happily at a niter all night and don't end up rolling on the floor pissed up, so why does enjoying a drink make me a div ? You do nothing to encourage support to your cause by insulting people who don't fit into your perfectly formed idea of what a niter should be. You'll only end up with one person there......you And don't forget I've done my fair share of trevelling up and down the country too.
  7. If it was within walking distance of my house, and I could keep popping home for a beer, yeah I'd go for it
  8. Hi Lorraine, Welcome to Soul Source. Here's a photo of you that I took at Great Yarmouth, with a very young Mark Bicknell in the back ground
  9. Can't find the feedback thingy, perhaps it's only in record sales. Anyway, This was a good deal, easy to deal with, and described perfectly.
  10. No takers at £40, ok I'll reduce it to £30.00. It really is of no use to me and I just want someone to have it who will make use of it
  11. As I no longer have a video player, and can't ever see me buying one, I'm clearing my shelves of videos. So, if anyone wants to collect a large box and a bin bag of videos, all Soul related, get in touch by PM and you can have the lot for free. But you have to collect them. A week from today they will go down the tip.
  12. Taking up space in my living room is Margie's sewing machine. I've never used it, and almost certainly never will. In fact I think Margie only used it twice. So, I decided it's got to go. All the instructions and bits are in the box, including a foot pedal thingy, but in all honesty I wouldn't know how to turn it on to see if it still works (It worked last time it was put back in the box and there is no reason for it not working now) I've had a quick look on Ebay, and they seem to sell for anything between £20 and £60 second hand depending on condition and whether all the parts are thre. So the first PM offering me £40.00 gets it. Postage is at cost, but as it's quite heavy it would probably be easier to collect it at a venue. Thanks for looking
  13. 1,379 Soul Artist and label discographies Soulful Kinda Music although it must be said that not everuything has the year of release.
  14. Drop a paving slab on it. It might not play anymore, but it will be flat
  15. That's 'cos it's not a real record Keith. Recorded in a flat in Hong Kong as a joke I believe, I'm sure it's been discussed at length on here a while ago.
  16. Never seen or heard of any colour other than dark blue for this single. There are other singles on the label which are orange (Sonny Carver for one)
  17. It's not a drill hole. Most, if not all, original acetates had this type of hole. It's used to hiold the blank disc in place as it revolves under the cutting tool.
  18. Listen Disco boy, that oven had better be sparkling now, and I hope you remembered to polish the glitter ball as well
  19. 66 views and not one PM I thought you guys were better than that
  20. Morning folks One of the tools I use when compiling label listings is a database of CD tracks that I have built. There are currently nearly 28,000 tracks on there, but I'm struggling to find the labels and catalogue numbers for just over 2,000 So, I was wondering in anyone fancied having a go at filling in the gaps for me, and in return I'll send you a copy of the whole database on a CD (It's in Microsoft Access, so you'll need that to run it) If you do fancy a go, PM me, and I'll send you a Word file by return. Thanks in anticipation
  21. I remember going to see it when it was released. From memory it's more of a jamaican coming of age film (Ie straight off the boat from Jamaica and how he gets on in London, and of course he ultimately triumphs in the end.) Jimmy Cliff did a lot of the music I think.
  22. Nige Brown has a copy of the French EP with the duet in his sales box if that's any use, Nige is on here so you could PM him.
  23. Only if it's 'Northern Soul salt and vinegar'
  24. And the price of the sales tables went up yet again. £105.00 for a six foot table. Of course if you are selling all the tat, it's £105.00 for a six foot table, clothes rail, elevated display, and whatever else you can manage Noprthern soul tea trays, mouse mats, friggin' door mats, and what I thought was a Northern Soul milking three legged milking stool but was later told it was so you could sit down and work on your scooter engine. To be quite honest, to have to sell £105 worth of records (and don't forget less then half of that will actually be proifit) before you actually sell any records for yourself has become impossible for people like me who just don't have the quantity and quality to make it worthwhile, which is why I didn't have a table at the March Prestatyn. Oh yeah, the DJ fees haven't gone up in the last ten years either, in fact they were cut in March !
