  1. I had to actually go and look who Mark Ronson was. So he obviously hasn't had any effect on the Northern scene that I frequent !
  2. There are several Culcheth lads on SS, but I don't think any of them are called Chuck
  3. ??????????????? Bear Family Records. https://www.bear-family.com/en/vinyl-schallplatten/singles-re-issues-originals/harris-john-the-soul-sayers-hangin-in-what-can-i-do.html
  4. You've got me there, that's the only one mentioned so far that I've never done. Coming to a venue near you.......soon !
  5. Before all my mates get round to saying (You know who you are), there are those who would say I still haven't learnt how to do it properly
  6. Over the years I've done them all, turned the wrong deck off, lifted the arm off the playing record, unplugged the decks, wrong speed pah ! that's nothing. There again I've averaged almost fifty spots a year for almost ten years, so It is going to happen. And any DJ who says they haven't done all these things is lying. Get used to the fact that you will make mistakes. I always use the mic to take the piss out of myself if I've cocked up. It's better to get them laughing with you, than at you.
  7. Previously unreleased until Kent put it out. However, I'm not sure which came first, the Kent single or the Kent LP of the same title.
  8. And a better discography here (Less gaps and more correct information): https://www.soulfulkindamusic.net/challenge.htm

  10. I really, really, really, really would have liked that Jimmy Andrews, and I was half tempted to spend my holiday money on it. I then tried persuading Jessica to buy it for me, I mean, if she really, really loved me she would, wouldn't she ! I didn't expect it to go for quite that much, but worth every single penny as far as I'm concerned ! In the end, I'm just going to have to listen to it on CD at home, and keep requesting it from every DJ i know who has a copy. So, can the buyer please make themselves known to me if they are a DJ, so that I can hassle them with a request every time I hear them DJ. (Unless of course it is Jessica that has bought it for me, and then you can hassle me for requests every time I DJ )
  11. Being from a Wigan family, it came as no surpise to me to discover that my parents did their courting at Wigan 'Emp'
  12. Without a shdow of a doubt, the pier is Wigan's most famous landmark, followed by the old Central Park. Both of which have had far more visitors then The Casoino during it's allnighter period.
  13. No more than any of the other vinyl versions.

  15. Spotted it straight away, and as you were typing, I was editing. Big fingers, small keyboard !
  16. Sadly, I'm being a pedantic git and pulling you up on your spelling. They aren't that hard, and you should certainly find one for under £50
  17. Impossible ! You'll never find one on Sceptre.
  18. I sold a complete set earlier this year, near mint condition, and I think I got £300 for them.

  20. Ah, right. It names Blackburm as a venue, but I'm looking for the West Midlands date, which I haven't found anywhere yet.
  21. Have I missed the list of dates then ?
  22. Sorry, you are behind the times already. The Llandeilo Jazz Festival had a session on the Saturday afternoon done entirely from original 78s....OSO. Original shellac of course
  23. Here's a few more I found on the net
  24. Well, as you've got one I thought you'd have supplied a bit more info. I'm confused. Is it just a picture cover, or is it a record as well. If it's a record, what label, what B side etc etc.
  25. I've never seen that release before, so it must be quite rare.
