  1. Yes Dave but did you clap chopping hands style or just in the usual way?
  2. As several people have said, it's good to play something different early doors. As a punter, I enjoy getting there early, supping a pint and listening to something different. If it was prime time fodder, I'd stay in the pub until prime time. I'd love to do an early doors modern spot.
  3. Alright then, apart from those everything's been released on Cd Lol! :-) 11. Making My Daydream Real-We the People This came out on the Togetherness 2004 CD on Expansion.
  4. I love Little Richard. One of the true innovators of the music we love and a fantastic showman.
  5. Agreed. Thanks very much Mike.
  6. It's on Northern soul Floorshakers. Excellent value for money CD with stonkin' RCA stuff.
  7. I saw Will Downing walking through the Pentagaon shopping centre, Chatham about 17 years ago. I went up and said hello. Will was friendly enough but he was being chaperoned by a local Radio Kent DJ who was rushing him off somewhere. I wouldn't mind but I was the only bugger that recognised him!
  8. Travis Womack "Scratchy"!!!. Was he having a laff! That's worse than Sheena Easton and Bill Oddie!! Lol!!
  9. I think they're always good with this years being particularly strong. It's good to have Prominent, Fantastic Johnny C, Ledisi remix & Keiysha Cole on it as I never picked those up. I thought Jean Wells was going to be on it too?
  10. Or maybe not. You can't buy tickets online.
  11. I believe he's playing at the Marquee, london on Friday https://www.ents24.com/web/venue/6648/Londo...rquee_Club.html
  12. Personally I think the released version is much better. It's better produced and sounds more meaty.
  13. It comes from a great CD too. I know it's received critical acclaim by the media but it really is a solid soul CD. Certainly one of the best of 2005 even if you can but it cheap in WH Smith lol.
  14. That's right. Released earlier this year. £3 on Ebay!
  15. I've been unable to get hold of Roger on the phone for a while now. Has anyone know how else I can make contact with him? topic title amended Shane
  16. I love alldayers. The only problem seems to be that they don't get going until 8pm when lots of people turn up, which then turns into a soul night. The afternoon sessions at weekenders can sometimes be the best bit when they're rocking but then they shut down at 6pm.
  17. Yep, that's very good too. Not as good as track 2 though imo.
  18. It's pretty good. I've only played it once so far. Track 2 "Sweetest Somebody I Know" is classic Stevie. There's a bit of schmaltz on there but let's face it you can go too far wrong with a Stevie CD.
  19. Paul, you're right. The These Old shoes CDs were excellent. I've also got a Wigan Orwell CD from about 4 years back from Steve Plumb. Most of the tunes were new to me at the time but have since become classics like Nathan Williams, Masterpeice, David Ruffin, Rosie Grier, Lou Ragand, Gems for Gem, Gloria Jay and loads more.
  20. At least our sponsor's haven't gone bust
  21. There's been some xcellent new realeases, such as: Earth, Wind & Fire - Illumination Ian Martin - The Way Various Artists - Soul Exposed Wade O. Brown - All Night, All Love There's plenty more too.
  22. If you thought what they did to the northern soul scene was bad, they absolutely mudered the southern / Caister scene.
  23. I'm gonna vote for Betty too. Much better imo.
