The O'jays Live At The O2 Arena
The good news is that it's at the Indig02 which is a much smaller, better venue than the main arena. The bad news is that tickets are £50 standing and £75 seating. Much higher than other gigs in that arena. I expected it to be a bit more expensive but that's outrageous. Btw Jock, Levi won't be there

Don Davis R.i.p

Mecca Type Venues
Steve Plumb runs a do called Oh So Soulful 70s or something like that which is probably what you're looking for. It's in the Leyland area I think.

Blues & Soul Charts Project
You’re right about what you say about the B&S chart and music undergoing a radical change. However, 1988 was actually a golden year for soul music with many fantastic LPs — most of which don’t feature in your chart. Off the top of my head I can think of Angela Bofill, Chapter 8, Jean Carne, Broomfield, Perri, Anita Baker, Luther Vandross, Gerald Albright, Will Downing, Pieces of a Dream, Mica Paris and By All Means

Judy Street Interview Via Lancashire Evening Post
How many times has this happened before? You would've thought that this would be a well drilled process by now. Why don't the singers just say they're visiting for holiday.

Archie Bell's
He brought his grand daughter on last year too Ali, dancing to "Tighten Up". She'll be an accomplished performer before too long

Archie Bell's
He's still got it. He was great when I saw him in London last year

Djing
Well I do agree that the NS scene has to evolve or it will fade out completely in the next 10 years or so. It's incredible that it's lasted so long. I'm in my 40s and I don't really care about it so much these days. I go to very few events even though I still love the music.

That Was Whiskey Talking
Was the Wigan Casino Monsters a Goldmine CD? This has been one of my faves since I heard Guy play it on the Janice Long Radio 1 show around 1986.

Soul Pack 45S
Not in a soul pack but I was given this as a bonus 45 when I bought a set of stuff in 1985 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIxlRfzl5Yo

Is Covering Up A Soul Dj Kind Of Thing?
That's probably a more diplomatic way of putting it. Perhaps I shuold've typed that the artists deserve more recognition.
-
Is Covering Up A Soul Dj Kind Of Thing?
I agree. It's the artsist that has the talent, not the DJ. Consequently, they deserve recognition.

Leicester City Fc - Saturday 29 March
Hence, my point. Not much time at all to fit in a god set of tunes. You must've had to fade a few out in your middle set Mark?

What The Hell Is Happening?
I don't disagree with your post but righteous? Really?!!??
