  1. Noel Gourdin – Patience Interesting choice. This track never really registered with me on the CD. Nice to see a new artist getting played.
  2. Never heard that before of heard of that CD. It's a good track.
  3. This has been going on for some time unfortunately Mike. Not helping the artist one bit.
  4. Is "Hang Up" the Mark IV song?
  5. I quite liked it at the time it came out. Not so sure now though.
  6. I doubt it. I don't think any of the Ecko stuff comes out on vinyl.
  7. Brilliant record. Is it hard to find now? I see there's loads of the original LP around for reasonable prices. Ignore all the other tracks though.
  8. It's a fantastic book. There's a film about the Detroit riots in 1967 coming out later this year. I have no idea if it's coincidence or is an adaption of the main thread of the book - The Algiers Motel Incident..
  9. Anyone who wants to buy music recorded in the CD era and put it onto a record needs their head examined imo
  10. Why Geoff? You can get the CD dead cheap with some great tracks from Angie Stone, Donnell Jones and Alicia Keys thrown in too. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Shaft-Ost-Original-Soundtrack/dp/B00004TDXT/ref=sr_1_3?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1496130674&sr=1-3&keywords=shaft+soundtrack
  11. At the Soul Bag do in London on Saturday, I heard loads of brilliant records including: Sebastian Williams – Get Your Point Over Greg Henderson – Dreaming Arnold Blair – Finally Made It Home Ivan Neville – Dance Your Blues Away Luther Vandross – Sugar and Spice And a great live performance from The New Jersey Connection.
  12. Loads and loads. Not all necessarily serious collectors but record buyers none the less.
  13. When is it next on?
  14. I bought this as a new release. Nice record.
  15. Yes Mickey. It's the 3rd monthly event as it's a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Especially when it's so close to home
  16. Sunday Afternoon event in Chatham: Louie Vega Starring...XXVIII - Heaven Knows The Main Ingredient - Evening of Love The New Jersey Connection feat Cynthia Wilson - Red Light, Green Light Sheree Hicks - Experimental Michael Wycoff - Looking Up To You
  17. The Motown Trackin compilation could also do with a CD issue Mickey.
  18. RIP Cuba. Rolling Down A Mountainside is my favourite. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9V_W7WhlLVM Sorry, but I can't remember how to embed a you tube clip
  19. Quite. Aside from the fact you could play Porgy & The Monarchs too I'm sure the 45 came out a few months after the LP.
  20. The first King's Hall all-nighter was Feb 97, as far as I can recall.
  21. So I read https://www.standard.co.uk/goingout/music/anderson-paak-tour-review-multitalented-star-takes-his-rightful-place-in-the-spotlight-a3516741.html
  22. I like the Anderson Paak. Good performance on Jools Holland on Friday too.
  23. Thanks for that. Some blistering records played in that clip. I hadn't realized they were on as early as 1994. I thought they started a few years later.
  24. The Soul Music Anthology CD series are very good. I've got Melba Moore, The Manhattans and Norman Connors. A Teena Marie has just come out along with Kashif. I recommend them.
