  3. The "You Love" Copies were found by John Anderson, in 2000 he visited The Reflection sound studios in Charlotte N.C to licence material for his Grapevine label (Carolina Soul Survey C.D) being John he asked if they had any 45s laying around, they had 20 file copies of "You Love" of which 8 were severely warped/unplayable these were the original press of the 45 when the studio realised the spelling mistake they "dumped" the records except for the 20 file copies and repressed the 45 with the correct "Your Love" title. hope this explains the authenticity of this 45. 16. It was released by Grapevine about 6 months ago test presses were supplied to Keith Money, Des Parker, Bob Hinsley plus others to get the record known prior to release. the Detroit Magnificents was signed at the same time as a previously unissued track by Jerry Williams "When you move you loose" John Anderson while looking through some material in his garage found a tape that Jerry had given him in the 70's both songs were on this tape John contacted Jerry and asked if he still had the master tapes which he had, so a deal was done with both records being legally released on Grapevine the Detroit Magnificents along with Al Williams "Try Them" are now the final releases of the Grapevine 2000 series and both have sold really well. only £10 to you pete

  20. Dave was in the process of doing Stanley's biography and had been in regular contact with him, even persuading him to appear at the March 07 Prestatyn weekender! on the numerous times Dave spoke to him he never mentioned any health problems, Stanleys cause of death was a heart attack, in the last half an hour Dave has spoken to his family, he had on going heart problems which he chose to ignore as he wished to perform right to the end, he died at 3.30am (U.S time) Saturday morning. His funeral is this coming Friday. All good wishes will be passed onto his family. Rest Easy Stanley

  22. Well i have it on very good authority that the Equator label is out of New Orleans the arranger Edward Frank was a renowned New Orleans session pianist, he can also be found on the New Orleans Etah recordings. hope thats of interest.
  23. The Magnetics Featuring John L McKinney was an unissued Sable recording which previously only existed on an acetate, discovered by John Anderson which he then sold to Richard Searling, Richard played it on his Cellar full of Soul radio show extensively through the late 80's & early 90's, then when John reactivated Grapevine in 2000 he licensed the track from John McKinney to release on Grapevine (104) this is the only legal format that this track is now available on. Hope you find that of interest
