  1. "Stay with me" was a popular record in Detroit and the reason the labels are different colours is as they sold out of a batch they then pressed another and just went with what colour the plant was using that day. Sandra latter recorded as Sandra Feva and then Sandra Feva Dance. When I interviewed her a few years back she about to be ordained as a Minister. Dave W

  18. Hi Guys A good friend of mine Carl Jones who resides in the leafy suburbs of Wolverhampton owns a red stock copy of Larry Clinton. He bought it off Gary Smelt when he sold that clutch of heavy northern things off circa 15 years back. Carl does'nt get out and about too much these days due to work and family commitments. Yet another sleeper who has a mighty fine collection. Dave Welding P.S. Carl paid £600.00 for it after telling me he made me vow never to tell anyone what he paid. But I'm sure with the current valuation he won't mind.
  19. Good to see The Mist get the recognition it deserves at last. Played it at Keele about 5 years back, at the start the dance floor was full, by the time it had finished there was one bloke left on the dance floor and he was trying to sell imitation red roses Dave.w

  24. I've got a story about the above news paper article, a couple of years back I was working an unissued cd track by Bruce Jackson, which was produced by Herman Weems. Herman was having trouble getting anyairplay on it in Detroit because no one remembered him. Now Herman ain't got a record to his name, so I sent him a couple of Fantastic Fours on Ric Tic that he wrote and a shagged water stained copy of Dee Edwards on GM. Now when that news paper article appeared on soulsource guess what ? the copy of Dee Edwards on GM was the copy I sent to Herman for a $1000. At 3am on that night I get a phone call of a very excited Floyd Jones saying he's got a couple of copies and can I sell them for a $1000 each and he'll cut me in. I tried to no avail to convice him that the record was only worth $25 tops. I rang Herman the next day to see what's going on, the sly old fox told me as long as the reporter from the Michigan Chronicle kept buying him rum and coke's he kept telling him what he thought he wanted to hear! Spoke to Floyd the other day and he still thinks it's $1000 record. Mind you I got my own back on him, the yanks don't go onto summertime till a week after us, so I got the poor bugger out of bed early. Dave. W
