  2. Hi Rob Don Mancha isn't a native Detroiter, he's originally from Baton Rouge. He and his family made the all too familiar trek north for work etc He also lived on the West Coast for a while. Dave
  3. Don Mancha was living in New York at the time he wrote "I Found True Love/She Said Goodbye" soon getting homesick he returned to the motorcity. It was he who persuaded Luther Dixon to join him, while there Musicor records employed Luther to produce the Platters on their "Going Back To Detroit" album etc. As told to me by Don himself Dave
  4. Depends if it's still got a copy of "Not Me Baby" inside.
  5. Hi Andy I assume that these press ups are infact finger press ups as apposed to the real McCoy? or how else are you managing to type on a key board at the same time. Have a word with Kitch he exercises his fingers regularly by removing ring pulls (usually from tins of Fosters!) Dave
  6. Come on folks dig deep in those pockets for this noble cause! These four fine fellows plus their logistical support team (well someboby's gotta carry the bottle opener Jock) are gonna put their highly tunned bodies through hell on a golf course, so they need loads of support. I've also heard on the grapevine that next year their planning on doing a boat race. From golf shoe shufflers to the cockless fours eh! (I hope I spelt that right ) Dave
  7. I always thought Geoff was joking when he reckoned that you show signs of fatigue after two rounds of drinks , Martin?
  8. Shout! Last orders at the club house bar!
  9. I seem to vagely remember a article containing a interview with Jack Asford in Jacques Pe'rin's Soul Bag Magazine along with other Detriot artist's etc. Has anyone got a copy as this might answer the question to the validity of the Googa Mooga releases? We would also then need someone who can then read French Dave

  13. Hi Regional Hope the Mixed Sugar album goes well for you, as well as your new "Unity" gospel album. The "You Died On The Cross For Me" track has quite a contempary feel to it. It was about a year ago when I spoke with you last. It's was when I was interviewing the Rev Sammy Solo Regards Dave Welding Soul Junction
  14. Which one was that mate, the one I taged went for: $1592.00 = £1008.00 Dave
  15. My Mistake Pete, But even so, "Let Love Win" is still not an unknown record.
  16. So Levine has throw his teddy out of his pram on facebook over any comments that were anything other than complimentary about his latest podcast. It's not the utter crap that he serve's up under the guise of being northern soul that pisses me off but the the patronizing way he delivers it, like we're all thick and need him to be our saviour. So Candy & The Kisses "Out In The Streets Again" is a unknown record? Did he not know that Gene Pharr on Sandollar(an excellent record by the way) is a cover version of Bobby Womack on Minit? etc, etc It always amazes me how people like Levine are nowhere to be found when the scene is in the doldrums but as soon as it's popular again and a few radio and TV camera's are about, out they come and jump straight back on the bandwagon with their ego's at full throttle. Knowledge is a wonderful thing and you find out alot more by listening, than drowning people out with the sound of your own voice. Dave Welding (an anal purist with his head up his own arse)
  17. So Ian's first record is a new discovery, he obviously doesn't know about Fred Marks And Toll Darkness using the same backing track on their Mel Omega releases? Too many years in the wilderness with Take That. Dave
  18. Don't worry Bob, Reggie's got a lot less hair on show on the cover of his latest gospel cd. Dave

  24. Great interview with Charles, Steve Dave
  25. Hi Phil I'm not comparing the quality of either 45against each other just saying that "Let's Take A Look" is about due for a reactivation., the trouble is the Four Dynamics is a current biggy and Emory is a forgotten sound. Also some records never hit the bigtime first time round or even the second infact some have to make more comebacks than George Bast to hit the bigtime. There's none so fickle as northern folk.
