  2. I think you mean Searling poppy northern ..............
  3. If I was the second highest bidder on this piece of pop, I'd be experiencing an overwhelming sense of relief and would be caressing my bank book with joy. Who ever discovered this record needs the back of his legs slapping with a stinging nettle ! Dave
  4. Hi Guys Yep Elliot Macauley hits the streets offically tomorrow it's been sellling well across the border in bonnie Scotland and the far East. But as of yet not much of a response from Elliot's native city of Manchester ? What has happened to this musical mecca of the northwest do they need Simon Cowell and his motley crew to tell them what Britons have talent ? When it's right under their noses ! Well Manchester's very own Elliot Macauley is currently the UK's hottest producer not just with this release but also with his "Future" project with Marwin Akil which is pushing hard for the Number one spot in the UK Soul charts. Oh well looks like another UK talent that needs to follow the Dreemtime guys stateside to gain the respect for his talent that he richly deserves. Dave Soul Junction

  6. There is also a mispress of 6702 with the label credited as "Be Happy For Me" on the A and B side which plays as the vocal and instrumental of "Together That's The Only Way" Dave
  7. Might be time to strut your stuff to the less frantic original verson by The Marvellos
  8. You and me, both it's awful Dave
  9. Wow ! someone with a genuine collecting mentality now today, that is rare ! Top post that man Dave
  10. Hi Ian Not moving in such illustious circles as your self the best I can come up with to reinforce my point are the ramblings of a ex Glaswegian dustman and a an ex gas fitter from Hertfordshire. The Dustman by the name of John Anderson recalls Levine pestering him for a record entitled "It Really Hurts Me Girl" that he, Levine reputedly had heard played on the radio, stateside and couldn't find a copy. Lucky John put him out of his misery by finding one of the first two known white demo's out of his racks along with Eddie Foster's "I Never Knew" (amongst many, many others), Yes Levine did spin the Carstairs first but he didn't find it. On to the gas fitter a bashful guy known only as Mick Smith upon his return with his trusty man servant Clive from the states in March of 73 promptly sold Levine The first copy of Lee David "Temptations Calling My Name", Tony Clark's "Landslide and Patti Austin's "Painstain" so that's aleast 5 legendary classic's that didn't come out of the Miami load. I too also agree with some of the previous other posters that Soul Sam should be included in any future attempted shows and how about another Northern Soul Lifer's contribution ? Keith Minshull some what disfunctional at times but he's got a memory like an Elephant Dave
  11. May have been a couple of years later Arthur, say 92 Yet another great post Wigan era discovery that'll bypass the BBC, happy days indeed. Dave
  12. Hi Arthur Graham's copy later went back to the Bowl and then on to me. Just a pity that the label design isn't as intricate as the Souls Unlimited "The Raving Vampire" Dave
  13. Sorry to disagree Ian As a lot of Levine's records came from many source's other than his now infamous Florida hit, its just that he's unable to give anybody else any credit for anything. Two years worth of new discoveries is a drop in the ocean compared to what has been found and has kept the scene moving forward since the apocalypse of wigan's closure in 1981 to the present day. Dave
  14. So Levine discovered the greatest 4000 northern soul records ever in one foul swoop really ? I wonder how these holy grails would stand up against all the records that were discovered while he was absent from the actually northern/modern soul scene furthering his career as a high enery/pop impresario ? Northern documentary versus Big Brothers Eviction Night now that's a tough call Dave
  15. Ain't that the Radiants providing the Ooohs ans Aaaghs in the background ?
  16. Ady's always been a avid supporter of help the aged too
  17. Hey Ted It's a good job Ady didn't ask for a curio as he might have ended up with an old relic like you Djing Dave
  18. Now all you need to learn is how to buy a round of drinks, followed by how to download an mp3 (that's according to Cliff) anyway
  19. I think a shout out for all the other hard working long term radio jocks on Solar and Starpoint amongst many other radio stations who also aired very commendable Womack tributes would be in order too ...... Dave
  20. Traditions Twinkle Little Star" Jerry Townes " You Are My Sunshine" Dave
  21. Somebody else who can't sell the damm thing !!! Turn it over and play "I Had To Moan" then
  22. It's "Little Angel" i'm playing you know it's only mid-tempo !
  23. Open your bedroom widow now i've got it on the turntable for you, smile
  24. Pete That's my point there's still decent records turning up but you really have to go more to hear 'em. To me Joe Mathews is a totally played out oldie, great Detriot double sider but played out. Now his vastly underated New Moon 45 "Little Angel" is a perfect crossover tune.
  25. PeteJust beause a record is poor in your opinion doesn't make it so too others, there are loads of non ( Northern Scene) hits from the 70's which have found a new lease of life in the interim, as people's taste improved amongst other factors.Actually (You Better) Check Yourself is the offical A-side on this release. Why don't you put on one of your podcasts and let the great unwashed decide ? Dave
