  13. "I'll leave the rest of you to 'debate' amongst yourselves!!! " C'mon jobbo, you know us fellas like nothing better than a good mass debate with friends......... in public.............. or equally in private in front of a computer screen........ as DazCymru says "pulling things in different directions" .....sorry
  14. C'mon Simon, at no point did jobbo say she preferred it to the original & obviously far superior James Brown, but she is surely allowed to like it at the same time? She certainly never likens Seal to James Brown or Duffy to Etta James or demeans Northern Soul/Soul in any way - plus she obviously wants to make the beast with two backs with the fella, which can drastically effect your tastes in many things - I for one went out with a German Goth once (still thought the music was pure shite though)
  15. F***in 'ell, look at you 2 in your pink shorts! So you're not allowed to like soul and other stuff/versions!? Now where was that "soul snobs" thread...............
  16. Terminology aside I've bought a few from him and they're all proper - he's also a nice bloke (well, from his emails) lets you know what's going on with your 45's, quick delivery & reasonable too ...... ..............and no, I'm not his cousin
  17. Is this the same echoes as EJ & The...... ? (Put a smile on your face, Treat me right)Is Pulse a Detroit label like Daimond Jim?
  18. If the UK's had to be a faithful reproduction, how can you tell the difference between proper ones/reissues?
  19. Think 'Ady Lupton' had a UK Polydor for £50 on his sale the other week? Might still have it...
  20. Mine's green & black too! Definitely the best version by a mile and looks great - how much would a proper one go for then?
  21. First time I heard the Harvey Scales was on a Mr Scruff mix with Towanda Barnes, Sonny Ozuna, Maroon Town and others. If you like some Ska.blue beat mixed in I think it's a Breezeblock mix for googling/downloading purposes... ...sorry chef, err 'bump' here you go: https://www.dnb-sets.de/?suche=mr%20scruff bump
  22. It's very bendy for styrene - thought one of the signs was that styrene was inflexible/brittle?
  23. Yep, totally agree with this - I've just done a couple of CD's for people who 'got' into the sound because of The Snake & Fortune Teller. If it gets new blood/youngsters into the scene does it matter how well known the tunes? `
  24. Hi Pete, this is deffo vinyl but I had a look at the short thread on here and there's mention of info in the run off - this only has the number. Let's face it, I got it for £16 & the days of bargains like this on the bay are long gone. Glad I didn't pay any more though...
