What's This Karen
Yep, this is definitely the 1st issue of Bettye Lavette which was actually on 'Rohrschach', which means that it is either showing: a) God smiting the unbelievers who are into Modern Soul "And lo! did he fall upon them with a mighty slab of funky-ass 60's soul that shattered their flimsy 2 step into a million pieces...." a local DJ defying soul police restrictions and playing a night of late 70's boots, Chattahoochie 'pressings' off ebay and the rest of the set from CD c) A dog called Sam giving orders on the invasions of Iraq & Afghanistan, current petrol prices and the abolition of the 10p tax limit d) a white bloke with a beard e) a negative of a black bloke with a beard Me, my money's on c) Cheers George Dubya

What Are The Legal Ins And Out Of This?
Yep, unless you sold to someone who happened to have all the relevant hard copies both yourself and they would be infringing copyright laws, though how anyone would ever find out? If the potential buyer were to turn up in an EMI/Island/etc van though.....?

Also got through a few albums on reissue for a bit of line-dancing in a North Welsh barn private party in a couple of weeks for £20 - good old Dusty Groove Orchestra Harlow - El Exigente on Fania, nice boogaloo/shingaling Latin, and what a 'tache! Latin Blues Band feat: Luis Alves - Take a trip pussycat on Speed, wacked out psychedelic Latin, recommended for side one alone, if this don't get 'em dancing I'll burn the place down Good God! A Gospel Funk Hymnal - Various, Funky and Righteous! Bohannon - Stop & Go - Dakar, funky stompers and rare grooves, this is lovely No good for the Soul Police I admit but great for private dos

Got it for 30 which is pretty reasonable I think, there's been one on ebay for weeks at a "Buy it now" for £40 (voxpopmusic) and another at same price from jkvinyl, so 30 sounds about right Great tune though bad for the knees at my age
