  2. I would say a rather difficult question so I will go with Marvin Gaye who at the time said his favourite was 'Little Darlin', so good enough for me! another that I have heard a thousand times but always gets me dancing, Temptations 'Get Ready'.

  17. Hi, I guess this has been discussed before but I would be very grateful to hear any members advice on the best way to clean up records. Picked up a few that look like they have years of built up dust/dirt etc... (not scratches/marks) and advice on google seems varied and contradictory. any advice including recommended products would be gratefully received.
  18. If there are no new 'collectors' then sooner or later the 'value' of these records will fall (simply supply & demand). when the time comes can all you 'collectors' just make sure they fall into the hands of someone who realises they are not replaceable - it would be good to think that even if the scene dies for a few decades that the opportunity is still there for it to be re-discovered (in 30, 50 or whatever years....) along with the ov.
  19. These days I like a few beers to feel confident enough to hit the floor especially if no one else is dancing which is often the case early on. But I usually go onto water about 12 or maybe a couple of red bulls if I start to feel tired. (As an aside if I drink red bull it puts me off food for at least a day - is this just me ?)
  20. Patrice Holloway - stolen hours ? I Love this type of female vocal, but it is hard enough explaining NS to people but 'Mamsey Pansey' - sounds a bit gay ?
  21. I'm no expert but I guess it depends on the floor, e.g. was at Broad Lane where there is a great wooden floor and I don't think any talc and they glided about nicely and most other place I have been they are fine. It probably also depends on your style of dancing (mine probably looks better inside my head than it does to anyone else......).
  22. I did have a pair of cherry red loafers but for nights I didn't like slipons as there was a danger of them coming off e.g. in case of having to run (which seemed to occur sometimes in those days....) so it was generally the brogues although I also remember plain black leather soled shoes called I think Gibsons (?) which were good for dancing. These days I wear Vans trainers which are about 20x more comfortable and they seem fine for dancing - unless you want to do spins which I can't do anyway because it makes me dizzy (esp after a couple of beers).
  23. I have a funny feeling I may look like some of these guys when dancing at an NS do
  24. mine is suspicion - the originals. i reckon i could listen to this for hours. Funny thing is as I was thinking of posting this I logged onto the Mary Fox NS program and it was the first track..... I believe I heard another version of this - anyone know who it is by ?
