  1. If it's got a big hole in the middle: Get a piece of cardboard (a 7" record mailer packer will do fine) and make a hole in the middle of it the size of the spindle on your record deck and stick it on your deck. Put the record on it without an adapter and move it about until is plays OK. Press down on the record and score around the centre with a pen. Cut the 'new' centre out of the cardboard, just beyond the pen mark, and put it into the record. Stick it back in the spinde and move the record around the cardboard centre until it plays OK. Make a mark or two on the new centre and the record to show the correct place it should be inside the record.
  2. There's a thread titled 'rousing intros' that might be of interest too here: /index.php?showtopic=34044 I'd go for the Salvadors and the Mello Souls
  3. Yes it's a test press, the pressing plant would have done it for Polydor to check quality control. All the details correspond with the released single. I'll take it of your hands if you want to move it on.

  10. It's the ''Medley: My Girl/I Want a Love I Can See [Acappella]'' track you're looking for third from last in the list, but maybe the preview clip is too short to hear it?
  11. Was that the one that was in very good / unplayed condition too? I think the seller was from Detroit and also had a copy of Anthony Raye for sale. The Impact label does a 'Danny Moore'? I hope so.

  15. Sometimes the iron in the tape goes off with age, especially if they been kept in damp conditions. If it's started to degrade you might only get one chance to play the old tape so make sure whatever you a recording to is up and running before you start playing the tape. You should also monitor the recording if possible, because often stuff comes off the tape on to the 'play' head and builds up to diminish the play volume, and hence recording volume. Post it to me and I'll have a go, but can't promise anything, if your mate's already said it dead.

  21. Not aimed at you or anyone else, just helps keep wants for vinyl etc in the right place. Anyone looking for a song should alway try using the search facility as the 'refosoul' library that's Mike's set up may well have it in there.
  22. If any member has a 'want' regarding a mp3 of a track, can they please post it up in the 'Look You Box' forum, not 'Wants' Ta.
  23. Spooky. I'll sort it and post again.
