  1. Makes sense from the songs titles.
  2. True, that's was the point of a 12", to make it louder, more bass for the disco, etc. Even if the LP cut is the 12" version, it will be less volume than even the 7" release.

White demos purpose was to demonstrate the record to the public, primarily through radio station plays. Since there was no point in spending more than necessary on something that was never for sale, the cheapest paper for a label is white and the cheapest ink for the print is black. Of course, some issues of records where black and white labels too. They weren’t given away as they always to remain the property of the record company. Most were, if unsuccessfully making the song a hit, either binned or given to the local thrift shop. If they were a hit they remained in the radio station’s library and played, rather than being substituted by an issue (as being sold in the shops) copy. Hence only issue should end up with a drill whole, not WDs. The Drew records out of Detroit seem to be on styrene WDs and blue issues. The label number prefix is ‘D’, Sidrian Music BMI, plus a ZTSC number Instant Heartbreak is on vinyl and distributed through Laurie Records of New York. The label number prefix is ‘DR’, Ardis Music BMI, W4KM – 0326 - - 1 ( Same format ** KM - **** - - * as other NY label records, such as Carl Spencer – Cover Girl) Perhaps Mike Terry had a deal with Laurie (before or) after he moved from Detroit to NY?
  4. I don't know if it's the same group, but there's a Valentines record on Ludix called 'Mama I have come home' / 'Johnny one heart'
  5. Yes, I've got a promo; must have been  quite an early 12" being 1976 (there's a thread on here somewhere). It's only about 1:30 longer than the 7". Can't you buy another 7" and put part one on one deck & part 2 on the other and mix them together?
  6. Is the 12" version on the LP?
  7. It’ll be on the pressings, just trying to think what to boot on the other side! Seriously though, might there be just too much flak for booting a record that has a ‘status’ such as the MS? Or is nothing ‘untouchable’ in the grimy world of bootlegging on the Northern scene?

  9. I think the on-site encoder is having problems re-encoding your mp3, it has done the same with some of mine. You could try different settings for encoding the mp3 and test it out in the 'a forum for testing' part of the site.

  16. Pete S posted a sound file of it up a while ago, the label's down as 'Rio'. He'll be able to tell you the price, maybe even has it for sale?

  18. It was on JM site for a while at £150  a few years ago, but didn't sell; and then it went up to £200 and sold quite quickly at that price.

  21. Disgusted and discouraged is the track I remember Richard Searling playing, I think this is album only too.
  22. I'll try again, but if it doesn't work, it'll have to be a 'name that tune' quiz! Â
  23. Anyone getting more than 5 seconds of the sound file?
