  1. Romance Watson - Where does that leave me Bit too slow? Always thought this could have been in a Spaghetti Weston, Clint and the Pistolero sidle up for the shoot out during the horns break?

  3. Wasn't ITZY a sort of 're-issue' label that put out popular tracks to meet the Pittsburgh demand in the 60's? There's other Swan tracks on the label.
  4. I'm not sure, but I read somewhere that FK&Cs was the first release. Later the group changed name and released it again, but as 7AAs.

  9. Pete Is there much difference in numbers of issue v demos out there?
  10. On the lass's T-shirt from the cover of the Charky LP 'Rare Soul Uncovered Vol. 2'?
  11. The (grey label) issue was booted. The boots are vinyl with a moulded label, originals are on styrene with a stick-on label.
  12. It was written by Zelpha Crawford who was a member of the Wodden Nickels, also on Omen, along with Dorothy Berry and Oma Heard; perhaps it is one of them on lead. It sounds like Oma Heard, but slightly deeper. She did record on Motown, some duets with Marvin Gaye, but they were wrongly attributed them to Oma Page (Gene & Billy's sister)
  13. The re-issues don't have the company address at the bottom of the record label (white print)
  14. Billy the Boot AKA MW /index.p...ic=6146&hl=
  15. Sorry, my reply was misleading, I meant booted AS a WD & AS a black issue

  17. I'll sort you one one tomorrow (Fri)
  18. The Flight belonged to Steve Hanbury. Other records that Nigel Parker, Chris Modley and myself were recorded to cassette tape and then 're-mastered’ on to reel-to-reel by the local 'magazine for the blind' people. The acetates were cut at JTS in London. I didn't have any ordinary photocopies of Steve's records, so no Flight, but did have of the others. Only the very light labels were any good to make labels for them - coloured in with felt tip and covered in transparent stick-back plastic and then glued on. Anything with out a label was written on with a silver rollerball pen The Flight look suspiciously like one of my efforts, don’t you think? Â
  19. This is definately a 'one-off'. How do I know, because I had it cut at JT's well over 20 years ago. The 'FLIGHT' is in my handwriting! I can't remember who I gave it to when I got an original.
  20. Sorry, I must have misunderstood the second post: "I'm not fully clear about the title of the Sam and Kitty c/u. What I know is its by "......... St. James and the Jon Doms" ( possibly anna St james) Its called "Make a happy home". The label is "ALTON" (Red) and its dog rare" So it's not that, what is it then?
  21. It was bootlegged on both the white demo & the black issue. I think you tell the difference buy the matix stamp that is only on the originals.
  22. Soul Sam was always said to be ahead of his time ! According to the label, PT is June 1970 and SKOW was only the B side on the issues. I think it may have first come through Soul Bowl, as I remember Poke playing it 1982-3, covered up as Lester Tompkins – Special Kind of Loving. I also remember Tim Brown telling me something about some changes within the label (Stax?, Cotillion?) at the time which might have caused the PT to not get distributed.
  23. That was The Ant&Decs, Alan's copy went to Minger for £4K, I believe.
