I can understand people thinking it's better to stick up some scan of the record than non at all to give credence to the fact that they accrual have the record. However I would be interested in knowing what the ratio is between 'boot' scan posted for 'legit' record versus 'legit' scan for the sale of a 'boot'. 1 in 9?

If you have a good ferret around the WWW you'll find there are the actual studio tracks for ANMHE drums, in-fact there are two, 'drums' & 'drum & tambourine. Plus both vocals, guitars, bass, piano & xylophone, & strings.

What was the UK label? Or was it imported in large numbers, if so, in several 1000's to sell enough copies to reach No 8 in the national chart surely? I suspect it was No 8 in the 'UK Oliver Christian Appreciation Society's - The Soul Cop top 10 chart' for 1976. The only tenuous thing I found, was that it was produced by Frank Guida who produced Gary U.S. Bonds' "A Quarter to Three" a U.S. No 1 & U.K. No 7 but that was 1961. Still it wouldn't be the first artist to honestly believed they had had great chart success in the UK chart, but hadn't!

Was that a double sided Bell Sound acetate, one side at 1:45 and the other, a different mix, at 2:35? If so, that was 'public' before it reached the UK.

Is this on a yellow label?

Is this the version that has the instrumental to it on the 'b' side?

Rob Perhaps back at that time someone over here got hold of a copy of the tape and was trying to attribute the female lead tracks to some female Motown artists and hence they put it down to either the Marvelltes, Velvelettes or Timmy Mallet's sister Sondra and her group. Of course it couldn't be the Supremes, as it doesn't sound like a goose farting in the fog.

I can't say ever saw, or even knew of the white label LPs, so they must've been very limited. I think it came out from the North Notts area didn't it Youth? I not sure that volume two ever got done I can remember the Vandella's track 'Spellbound' on the flip of a boot of Barbara McNair's 'You're Gonna Love My Baby' (white label Tamla copy I think) around '82/'83 - not seen one since TamTown wasn't it. I used to have one, white label and red print? and 'Suspicion' was booted as the flip to Eddie Holman's 'Where I'm Not Wanted', which I have somewhere but can't recall who it was credited to The Detroit Prophets or the name of the label (again they were readily available at Stafford) - if I find it I'll try to put a clip up for comparison to other takes if anyone's interested.
