  2. Was Soul Train ever on TV in the UK? I am convinced it used to be on at tea-time in the early 70's Did any DVD box set type stuff ever get issued? Link to episode guide https://epguides.com/SoulTrain/
  3. I don't think there are as many 150; the person that did them is on here so they'll know exactly. I think they couldn't afford to pay for the full run and were threatened by someone claiming to have the rights to it. Most of the stock ended up withe Ovenchip, didn't they?

  5. There were some lows too. I remember going to Lincoln Drill Hall in 1987 and the DJ played an entire set of which I only knew George Blackwell. The Just Brothers wasn't Sliced Tomatoes and a neither was the Del Larks the right record, which he had the cheek to play twice. After each record I asked him to play some 'Northern' or something that I knew like Frank Wilson & Benny Troy. He told me to F off back to my youth club disco. I nicked his play list in an attempt to get my money back at the door under the trades descriptions act. Here's the list appointments frank beverly - wanted mello souls george blackwell devotions soul bros inc - pyramid delegates of soul cheryl lynn 'diane lewis' gene toones little john - heartbreaking two plus two - conquer tommy ridgley james dockery shufflers mr lucky ray agee chantelle & aqualads mello souls 'just brothers'

Steve there was a copy being offered for sale last summer, but the scan he put out was the "B" side which has an I, not a W at end of the label number. The WCMI font is also wrong, one of Photoshop's not a 60's pressing plant I suspect.

  14. The reason I asked is because I seem to remember sitting on the stage talking to Ian Clarke and he said what more could you want 'fantastic music, great company, the bar still open & Bananarama in the house' (they were propping up the wall just to the left of the stairs)
  15. Can anyone remind me 1. what year did the nighters begin at the 100 club? 2. what time did they start? 3. did the bar ever sell alcohol?

  17. Me too, please. I don't believe one exists.
  18. Pre PC's, digital files, restoration software etc, there were quite a few acetates and bootlegs that were shorter than the original (vinyl) release about. I always assumed that on the last few seconds of the record, there were far too many crackles and pops not to give the game away and hence were just faded out short e.g. Kenni Smith
  19. yes, it is.
