  3. Monsieur Pierre (through the window) I don't recognize the quote as one from Barry Norman so presuming it's some twaddle from Mark Kermode. Please could you expand & clarify for a thicko, eejit, dinlo like me.
  4. Cabrini https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14351082/?ref_=tt_urv Visually great, reminded me of the beginning of The Godfather part 2. I didn't know anything about her which was a positive, but at 2 hours plus, I would have preferred a documentary style format, or a reduction and more on the information in the last 10 minutes,
  5. A member on here has / had one of those for decades, i'm sure it's the same combo 111b & 112a
  6. Posted about these two recently: Lies We Tell In the Land of Saints and Sinners
  7. So the Debonaires were 'freelance' and moonlighted for several different studios? Presumably their backings were somewhat "generic" so that they could be utilised on multiple recordings with different lyrics and instrumentation. And this was often done in a furtive underhand manner? i.e. the reason they were 'taken' elsewhere?
  8. I was looking on IMDB for Blue Lights – series 2 and noticed on the entry for Seamus O’Hara, he was in the recent film In the Land of Saints and Sinners https://www.imdb.com/title/tt15782690/?ref_=tt_urv Pleasantly surprised with it, bit different than I expected. Apart from having to watch Sarah Greene (yes I’m that shallow), you get a tiny snippet of Marlena Shaw – California Soul Otherwise, nothing very recent has caught my attention………………
  9. Not exactly 'feel good' or 'family friendly' Great acting, but a little too grim for me https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4n187n8rlvo
  10. "Unlocked: A Jail Experiment" I enjoyed this. "Unlocked: A Jail Experiment is a mini series that follows the inmates of a cell block in Little Rock Arkansas as they navigate and negotiate life in jail environment, but without guards and without locks on their cell doors."
  11. I was very disappointed with series 2. I see series 3 & 4 have been commissioned, but I can't see them going ahead. Since they killed off Gerry, there's no character that I'm particularly bothered about.
  12. what did you think of series 2?
  13. Very funny bloke and top quiz-master on here R.I.P. Godz

  17. I often wonder a half hour episode of stuff like this takes to record, there must be constant 'corpsing' by the cast, maybe they do their bits in isolation?
  18. Tish 'a picture is worth a thousand words' https://www.imdb.com/title/tt17889074/?ref_=tt_urv I think a lot of the 'autumn chickens will enjoy this on iplayer too - https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m001xyrg/tish
  19. Lies We Tell https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10406410/ Really enjoyed this! first half an hour - bit Emily Bronte second half an hour - which on of those b*stards gets their comeuppance, but when? last half an hour - oh yes!!! deffo watching it again
  20. This is one of those that has been promoted ambiguously. I expected it to be about 2-tone music, early 80’s youth culture etc. There is very little music of the time, it’s actually more to do with dysfunctional people / society who happened to be involved with the IRA activities in Coventry at that time. Not a bad story once it gets going, just don’t expect The Specials etc, to make a cameo appearance.
  21. they all sound the same to me Chris - marke - van CHRIS mark van x.mp3
