Did it touch on any long term mental heath issues? I remember being told he "retired" for two years because 'River Deep' didn't get to number one. Also that he would take a pistol into the studio and point it at the session musicians. I've heard some session outtakes and it's well past 10 at night and they are on take 20 something of one of the tracks, but only just into the first 30 seconds of the recording!

It does seem to have been written by Tom Baird.
It could be anyone, but my guess is that it's a demo done by Joani Taylor of Vancouver as a teenager.
Thanks for putting those up. Some of the unreleased instrumentals knocking around are a bit tedious, have you heard the instrumental of 'Eddie's My Name' - dire.
Can anyone give me a warts and all description of Mr M's room.
I can't say I have ever read anything too complementary about the place. What was it's attraction?
Is 6 RS - Rampart Street? Well done that Man! funnily enough I thought people would get that one pretty quickly. Only one to now guys...... Regards, Dave
Was Soul Train ever on TV in the UK?
I am convinced it used to be on at tea-time in the early 70's
Did any DVD box set type stuff ever get issued?

I don't think there are as many 150; the person that did them is on here so they'll know exactly. I think they couldn't afford to pay for the full run and were threatened by someone claiming to have the rights to it. Most of the stock ended up withe Ovenchip, didn't they?
There were some lows too. I remember going to Lincoln Drill Hall in 1987 and the DJ played an entire set of which I only knew George Blackwell. The Just Brothers wasn't Sliced Tomatoes and a neither was the Del Larks the right record, which he had the cheek to play twice. After each record I asked him to play some 'Northern' or something that I knew like Frank Wilson & Benny Troy. He told me to F off back to my youth club disco. I nicked his play list in an attempt to get my money back at the door under the trades descriptions act.

Steve there was a copy being offered for sale last summer, but the scan he put out was the "B" side which has an I, not a W at end of the label number. The WCMI font is also wrong, one of Photoshop's not a 60's pressing plant I suspect.
The reason I asked is because I seem to remember sitting on the stage talking to Ian Clarke and he said what more could you want 'fantastic music, great company, the bar still open & Bananarama in the house' (they were propping up the wall just to the left of the stairs)
