  1. A sound file of a such a spot does exist, but I can't find my copy of it now. If it was at Wigan or not I couldn't confirm. I seem to remember it was about a dozen tracks, may be 9 of them being instruments - Mirwood stuff?
  2. The vocals sounds similar to my cloth ears, but the instrumentation differ, minus tambourine, organ etc on 'Billy Arnell'
  3. 06:29 . How quickly 34 years flies bye.......
  4. You can Mixcloud Downloader for Firefox & Chrome which works well, just install and right click on track in Mixcloud. https://www.mixcloud-downloader.com/ Alternatively, install the 30 day trial version of Internet Download Manger, works on Mixcloud, Youtube, iPlayer etc etc. Excellent stuff, worth paying for $25 = about £17 https://www.internetdownloadmanager.com/
  5. I've put your postcode into my sat nav, what time will your house be empty?
  6. can you wait until tonight? email to send it to?
  7. Try searching for a broadband speed checking site, you need to have a download speed of at least 5Mb/second for streaming (don't worry about upload speed). Even if you have a good download speed you need to have a decent speed from your router to your computer. To get the best results don't use wifi but connect them with an Ethernet cable, much faster. If you have to use wifi because your router is in another room, try putting it up somewhere high and not situated close to anything dense which would 'absorb' the signal. You can get adapters for using Ethernet cable via you electric sockets. You can often download a podcast etc faster than stream it and then listen to it; you can get browser ad-ons to download Mixcloud. Try the 30 day trial of Internet Download Manager, highly recommended. great for YouTube Remember, even if you are a high user (regardless of being 'unlimited') and at peek times your service provider may "throttle" your download speed.
  8. Anyone want a Saundra Mallett -cheap! https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/56666362_saundra-mallett-the-vandellas-camel-walk-tamla-motown Wish I'd spend my money on lots 0060 (Frank Wilson test presses x 57) and 0061 (Andantes x 131)
  9. I guessed that was CJ's auction, so is the Andantes the same one he got off IL around 30 years ago? Any thoughts about it having a drill hole? I hope it hasn't got 'PB' scratched in to run out! (just joking)
  10. Oddly enough that copy also had a drill hole too and it was almost in exactly the same place, comparing the scans for the two auctions.
  11. Did any of them have a drill hole? I notice the one on Manship's does, but all the other scans I've seen do not.
  12. Test Pressings were done to determine the quality of the 'product' leaving the pressing plant, though obviously several 100's/1000's pressings later in the shops.. Demo's were made to demonstrate the recording to the potential buyers, almost entirely over the sound waves from radio stations. The production & playing of a demo didn't pay any royalties the writer/producer - if you wanted to get it out there, you got 'paid' by having it promoted for "free". Once your released record got played by the radio stations you got a few cents/pennies from it's playing. I'll leave Payola & pirate radio for another tread.
  13. The tracks were recorded several months apart, so when were the 'stampers' electroformed? , probably not at the same time? A record can be pressed with in a matter days of an other "original" release, but have different 'cut numbers' on either or both sides due to high demand i.e. a stamper(s) gets worn out. You could have a test pressing with unique matrix numbers, followed by a demo with different ones, the same or different to the 'issues' leaving the pressing plant a few hours later.
  14. Exactly.................. As Vivian Alan James MacKerrell once probably said "All right, this is the plan. We get in there and get wrecked, then we eat a pork pie, then we drop a couple of Surmontil-50s each. That means we'll miss out on Monday but come up smiling Tuesday morning."
  15. Under a frogs arse at the bottom of a coal mine
  16. Ask Eddie Holman
  17. Always thought this was a good tune. Is Terry Callier's version any good?
  18. "az árak a béka segge alatt vannak "
  19. What is it you are looking for? "I wanna be hers"? Can I have a copy of the track list for all the COTC CD's please?
  20. Cream Of The Crop series of CD's ? Did they do the rounds as A La Carte or Dancin Cat?
