  1. to be honest i can't remember ever reading anything definitive about the Cashmeres, members etc. Another mystery. Why is the title on the release DON'T LTDHYB, who knows?
  2. That's the Cashmeres of HEM fame & the one sided acetate is a different take of the HEM release.
  3. you're right that's 52, my mistake, 58 is The East Coast Connection - Summer In The Parks
  4. 58 John Harris And The Soul Sayers - Hangin' In?
  5. being down so long, getting up didn't cross my mind when i watch this, i always wonder where they are now, what happened to their dreams and aspirations
  6. I heard this on the wireless and thought it had i good soulful vocal. Caught something about 3 burners and after a google came to this on YouTube - very pleasantly surprised. I thought they would make a nice 'live act' down at a 100 Club niter; OK it's Russell Crow on the organ, but you've got Shifty on guitar and Butch on the drums! (in the 70's i remember the local department shop's hi-fi section selling some equipment with a similar 'box' , ? amp, with the whirling thing on it, any with more details?)
  7. try Russ Vickers on here, I'm sure it was one of his c/u's
  8. Modernsoulsucks can probably fill in the details. I was just asking if anyone remembers actually hearing it played out at an soul do, Wigan?
  9. anybody on here remember it being played out, if so when and where? And who played it?
  10. with my conspiracy hat on, I'd propose it's because it's got the name Singleton on the label. However, there are thousands of 'northern' records that are in two figure numbers and less, on major labels too, that can't be given a plausible reason for their rarity.
  11. sorry for my badly worded post. I meant say, italics 100 copies, bold 50 ie 2:1. Therefore 150:? on Wand? 150:1?
  12. anyone hazard a guess the ratio of Despenza 'italics' to 'bold' type font copies, and those combined, to Wand copies?
  13. Rod, i think there's less chance of you getting the virus in this way than you finding yourself standing next me in a same-sex Elvis themed marriage chapel in Los Vagus tomorrow! Now, if your mate has a DIY novichok lab in his house, I'd be more weary. If you're still worried, don't buy anymore records and buy some jigsaws instead.
  14. No, I'm sure there wasn't. But I remember my late sister's boyfriend use to to spend several months in borstal & prison for breaking into chemists to elevate the suffering of asthmatics & obese in the North West. Evidently, all in vain?
  15. When using the cruciform 12" mailer, do people use any extra padding, stiffeners etc? i have it in my head, it'd would be better to pack things quite tight to avoid movement / slack space rather than pad with bubble-wrap etc.
  16. VS began her singing career while serving actively in the US army. She entertained her follow troops in the service clubs, and was constantly in demand by her superiors to sing at wartime functions that needed entertainment. While stationed in France she was asked to join a vocal group of young men called the Corvettes (?) It was not until this invitation was extended did she entertain the idea of becoming a professional singer. The dedication to this idea was further reinforced when her group was a winner in the All Army Entertainment Contest *, and shortly-there-after she made her first television appearance on French television. Since then the entertainment world has been her first love Her first serious recording effort came in the early sixties when as lead singer for a group called the Ribbons. She experience her first nationally charted record ‘ain’t gonna kiss you’ and ‘my baby said’ The latter is now part of an oldie album *
