  4. Andy Rix played the alternate vocal to Sam Fletcher, very "white" sounding too. It's a Dick Charles studio acetate sung by W.B. Willingham who co wrote "I'd think it over" Unfortunatley, it is recorded a little too fast and that's why it might sound a little pink around the gills!
  5. Chalky, is it the Joe Pirolli version? I've got an alternate male vocal to Vivian Carroll Oh Yeah Yeah Yeah here. link
  6. I have put some track up in the “Sounds” section that have been in recent posts, primarily for the benefit of anyone who does not have access to a million quid and a thirty plus year collecting career! They play a bit slow unless you use one of the audio streamers, perhaps Mike can sort it? I hope that they start some discussion threads that will kill off a bit of the negative crap we have had lately. Little Ron – top tune or thank god there’s only the one? Hamilton Movement – the all genre encompassing record, funk deepfunk, modern, and northern or over-priced and over-hyped? Little Willie Faulk – Butch’s best funk record or Stafford has-been that nobody danced to that I can remember at the time? Eddie Billups – quality mid-tempo master piece or dirge that, if it was a fiver, would still been in every dealer’s box? Monzas – blue-eyed soul or white garage crap? Lost Soul – acceptable blue-eyed soul or a crime against humanity?
  7. It's the backing to Doni Burdick - if you walk out my life Thanks Andy "anorak" Rix
  8. I've always dug the name "Abstract Reality". I've always been curious to hear the record because I liked their name so much. I believe they were on Sport or some other Detroit label. Anyone have that 45? -Jas "Love burns like a fire" came out on Sport and is a very nice recording. PM me your email address and I'll send you an mp3. I'm pretty sure they are also Micheal (Cambell) & Raymond (Monette) of 'Man without a woman' fame on RCA, the Pied Piper production being the Detroit link. They also sound very like the Sanpipers 'Lonley too long' as well!
  9. That's the one!! Many thanks Ferret. I've got a real good recording of it on a CD somewhere that I'll dig out and put up at the weekend, if anyone is interested

I seem to remember Gary Rushbrooke playing it about 20 years ago The corus goes: I can get you off my mind, oh yeah I can get you out of my life, oh yeah Because I've found me someone Someone to love me Someone to hold me Someone to kiss me I think it's by Little ????? & the ?????'s Anyone got any ideas? thanks
  13. however main thing is the "content", while site can set it up, at moment time doesn't allow site to concetrate on the actual content if theres a few who be up for playing a part in getting content up and looking after it, can set it up and reckon be a worthwhile thing, that once started would grow under its own usefulness if anyone interested in playing a part just shout mike link
  14. Dave Do you have any idea about it's rariety? Were they trashed or could they sitting in one of the other group member's garage? Any thoughts on a price tag for one?

  18. Over 20 years ago I was sitting on the stage at the 100 Club, moaning to Ian Clark ,who retorted " I don't know what you're moaning about, you've got great music, a late bar and Bananarama across the room!" Anyone else been in the company of "celebrity soulies"?

  20. Pat Brady used to play a record by the Monzas called Instant Love on Pacific at Stafford (C/U as the Seven Souls, I seem to remember). I've never seen one for sale and was just wondering how rare it is and how much I'm going to have to pay for one? I know someone who had one, but it's was pressed heavly off-centre Also, I presume there's only the one Monzas group?
  21. It's worth £356 to somebody!
  22. Mike, the rm streaming was up the spout last night at the site and so I think you're looking for anyone who taped it of the radio locally.
  23. Sam used to play THe Bell Brother - Give it up - Bell-O-Soul at Stafford in the top room. This may be the one as they sing "Give it up, Give it up baby" Also from around 1982 there's a record (?UK only) by David Emmanuel called "Giving up on love", it might be that as I seem to remember Pat Brady playing at Cleethorpes.
  24. Will the trade involve me getting Eric Mercury or Fred & the turbines?
