  1. I tried that Mike but you have to put something in the post, even if it's just a couple of letters - please see my atemps to abort a post under "Geater Davis"
  2. Anybody know how to delete a post on here? I'm not very bright and probably can't see the obvious, is there a delete button somewhere?
  3. anyone wanna hear leo and leopards only soul 45 featuring a duck hunter call thing to best of me knowledge always makes me smile Carl Spencer - Cover Girls has a similar sound instrument on it, I think they're called kazoos or something like that.
  4. thanks chalky, it's the only response I've had so I'd better take you up on it! I'll email you later.
  5. Breath taking girl, was this his last release?
  6. Did they come out of Worksop?
  7. Construction, how high resolution do you need?
  8. This should be too hard to pick up as it was pressed in reasonablity large number. I did see one a week or so ago but it was £40 which I thought was a bit steep for a R.I.!
  9. Sorry Alison, I can't open the file.
  10. HOW TO STAY AWAKE AT MEETINGS 1. Before (or during) your next meeting, seminar, or conference call, prepare yourself by drawing a square. I find that 5"x 5" is a good size. Divide the card into columns, five across and five down. That will give you 25 one inch blocks. 2. Write one of the following words/phrases in each block: * synergy * strategic fit * core competencies * best practice * bottom line * revisit * take that off-line * 24/7 * out of the loop * benchmark * value-added * pro-active * win-win * think outside the box * fast track * result-driven * empower (or empowerment) * knowledge base * at the end of the day * touch base * mind-set * client focus(ed) * paradigm * game plan * leverage * moving forward 3. Check off the appropriate block when you hear one of those words/phrases. 4. When you get five blocks horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, stand up and shout "BULLSH!T!" Perhaps you could addapt this for a Northern do: Monster (sound of ) By request Mid tempo magic First time out Wait for the beat Forgoten oldie etc, etc On winning, instead of BULLSHIT, we could shout "HANDBAGGER"?!
  11. Perhaps because it's only a £5-8 record for many years and has been sorley overlooked! I've got, "Will you wait", "Don't give up" and "Breath taking girl" by him and they are all fantastic tunes . Anyone got a discography? I seem to remember he died of a heart attack aged about 37, a few years ago.
  12. I think they are all legit and just must have come from a US based Northern collector with a love of mint records with black labels and silver writting..... Oxford Nights Soul Communicaters Del Larks Demos Flash McKinley

  14. Is he back in Cheltenham then? Any chance of PM me his email address / contact details thanks Simon
  15. Your scan looks like the one one Ovenchips auction finishing 15/09/04 @ £450 (that must have been an original?!!). Therefore, they could all come from the same "find" or the same "repress". I think, on either account, risking £50 should be a max, all thing considered. What'd you think?
  16. Billy Am I right in thinking that you had the "proper" one for a considerable time (? over 3 years) and therefore it could not have come from the same batch that these dealer are knocking out on ebay, if they are indeed dodgy in any way (i.e. pressed recently)?
  17. You'll go mad! I've got the name Kelly, the label Calla and some bint singing "I need him" going around my head now. Any idea on the courus?
  18. The 7" is quite typical of records at the time (1977) with a part 1 (3:37) and part II (3:24) and so it's not surprising to see a 12" "disco" version released. Although I've not heard it I expect it will consist of the 7" mix plus a repetition of one of the verses and the intrumental break two or more times. Or parts I and II "stuck" together either side of the break beats; e.g. Curtis How can I tell her 12", & Flowers - For Real 12", respectivley. I suppose 7 minutes plus is not too unbearable when you are off your face on PCP "Disco Biscuits"!!!!
  19. It's on Brite Lite, the 7" is best part of a grand and the 12" about a quarter of the price as it's not a good. The 7" has been booted recently as a "10 inch pre-test press, that plays at 33rpm" often on ebay as buy now @£15
  20. I've not seen a twelve of the OTB track either; are you think of "If you can't tell me....." which does exist in both formats and they are different mixes?
  21. Yes, but the answer is 'no' sorry. I can put in on a CD for you or anyone else who might fancy a swap.
  22. I wonder what the arabic for "turn off that sweet soul music" is?!!!!
