  1. I have a real copy of The Monzas. This is what I have noticed by comparing the pictures of Lil-peddler's bootlegs to my original (I have not held one of these bootlegs yet). Label of the original is a nice... deeper Turquoise. The top zigzag line above the "Pacific" logo is higher than the original (label to mine is perfectly on center - are his?) Scratched in the dead-wax of the original is 1002-A & 1002-B. Then "MC" or "ME" scratched in next to it. Vinyl to the original is heavy. Would snap with the slightest flex. link
  2. A 'real' one, bought from Sowl Bowl around 1984/5. They've even got the type set wrong haven't they? 'The Inspiration' should be THE INSPIRATIONS surley, and the 'Is' should be the same size?

Well that's just increased the value of my collection by around £350! Does anybody know any thing about auctions? Surley you need at least two people to be bidding, so that makes one mad person and one nearly as daft. Also, as this auction takes proxy bids and the bid increment was £7, it implies someone droppped out at £350 and the winner had put in a 'final' bid of £357 or more!!!!!!

Go to 'forum' at the top of the home page and it's at the bottom of the ''rare soul forum'' section.

Do all your records have a big black A in the centre to mark them as demos? I bought a job-lot of 'demos' years ago and most have a printed A, but some have white sticker over the centre with an A on it, and a few are just plain looking issues in black and white RCA promo sleeve. Any ideas? ta.

If it's this, I seem to remember it being a one-sided S.O.S studio acetate. Although it's around 20 years since I saw it, I'm sure it was a plain orange label with James Bynum written on it, so it could be him, or anybody for that matter.

Hated Wallie & Rose "Switch Around" but love it now. Loved Danny Woods "You had me fooled", but now would quite willingly smash every copy to bits!

Just converting old tapes to CD and have come across a track by Carlena Williams called "Soulful drop in the bucket (?)" At the time (1987) I was told it was unreleased, does anybody know if it ever came out or got booted / released on CD? thanks
