  1. Once again a £100 record goes for silly mone.y I've said this before, if this is a valid auction result, there must be one person putting in a bid a few quid behind, because it's an auction that claims to use proxy bidding, like ebay. As we can't 'access' this person like ebay, you can't offer a similar record for their second place bid and see if they are for real. However, anyone can sign up to the auction and bid against the true bidder i.e. the same person with a thousand pseudonyms who could always be the second highest 'bidder' . The other strange thing is that, like the Silouettes this week (~£1100), the winning bid always seems to be about 4X the 'set sale' value of the record. If the second place bidder is reading this, you can have my rarer black issue (vg+) for £670!
  2. Brother's Guiding Light - Getting together is on a Philips LP for a tenth or less than the single plus some other interesting tracks.
  3. The Moment - I've got the need - All Plat which is a nice version.
  4. By December 1969, they were at 78959 so it must have been 2 or three years later.
  5. Yes, it was pressed at the Monarch Recording pressing plant and that's what the MR in a circle stands for. Many styrene records came out of this pressing plant, both originals and boots. Luckily, the records were given a delta number which you find in the run out, it looks like a triangle followed by the number. Lots of pressings were done in the early to mid seventies and they are 'given' away by a higher delta number to that of their original sixties release.
  6. Mark should be banned for posting it up in the first place! If Maxine is still alive and can be found, perhaps she might like it? At least you would be giving something back to the original artist!
  7. About the equivalent of £250, going by recent ebay ending prices - about £245 too much!!
  8. Can't see what all the fuss is about
  9. 'Hope we have', then 'Girl I need you' every home should have them!
  10. Soul Twins - Quick change artist My youth club's record collection consisted of the Grapevine album and a Bad Company album - probably took the wrong path!!
  11. I like it and will admit to having it. The problem is Christian, is that it's what ever was being spun at your particular ''time'' that floated your boat at that time. Also, ampetamines were the drug of choice then, where it's alcohol now. The Billy Harner is just another of those shit 'rare, so must be good records', I much prefer he's outing on Match - I don't want to cry.
  12. The Legends - "Fear Not" (Locket) So so good. fab choice there Mark, but the other side is the one I'm always spinning, biy slow but no doubt could be classed as 'crossover' On Commercial too, both about a tenner?
  13. Yes, the boot label looks like a poor black & white photocopy!
  14. It's the actual picture sleeve to "I wanna give you...." I wonder how many people saw it and bought the single 'on spec' ?!!!!!
  15. I've seen it before so I know it can be done, but how do they have a label scan on a forum and when you click on it it plays the associated sound file? thanks Simon
  16. Hasn't billytheboot got one, perhaps he could put a scan up? I seem to remeber it's slate-blue and the writing has an orangy tint, but it was a long time ago that I saw one.
  17. It a bright blue one (or so I've been told, as of course I never used to spend my dinner money on those illegal things)
  18. err yes, I'll have some more tea vicar. I don't know what's going on Mark, just came over a bit Pete S there! Yes of course CDs should be melted down and turned into vinyl!
  19. Yes
  20. Exactly, that's why I only rate around the £30 mark! It alway used to be about 10 to 15 quid but you get a repro for a couple £ - I doubt it sold at a ton, but you never know these days
  21. I'm sure I heard it at Stafford too, but I thought it was Ian Clarke who spun it.
