  3. I’ve just decided I want to be a DJ on the Northern scene. As anyone got any tips on how to start out, aside starting my own do? What would you say are the quintessential DJ ingredients for a new kid on the block? Great collection, or a couple of dozen mega rare 45’s. 60’s, 70’s or both? Do you have to earn your stripes or kiss the right backsides?

It's their first L.P. in 1964/5 "Four Tops", but be careful if you are looking for it on vinyl as it was re-issued by Motown in the late eighties (looks the same, but the cardboard of the cover is much thinner) There also a nice version of 'Don't turn away' covered by Tony Diamond on Blue Rock, a subsidary of Mercury*. Tea House was also done by Tommy Knight, as well as his cover of the Four Top's ''don't bring back memories'', but were never released (?)

  20. Shrine records were called Shrine by Eddie Singleton as a tribute to President Kennedy and the emblem is the Eternal Flame on Kennedy’s shrine. Shrine’s publishing company was Ramitary and was formed by Eddie and his wife Raynoma; Eddie was born Eddie Singletary Raynoma or ‘Miss Ray’ learnt her record producing skills at Motown being Berry Gordy’s second wife. Berry Gordy wanted to have a record label called Tammy named after a favourite film (star) of his, but as the name was copyrighted he plumped for Tamla instead Pictures: Eddie Singletary Berry & Raynoma Gordy Very common Shrine release
