  1. It's a well known fact that all copies have surface noise; a scouser was over in the US looking for employment and was paid by the CIA to track down copies and inflict damage to the grooves with a rusty nail. Once done, the bloke would 'sign it off' by writting his initials on the label; true story, ask Mike, it was his cousin Yosser!
  2. Might be, check out this thread on here about those motown acetates /index.php?showtopic=26883
  3. There's fook all in Cambridge apart from a big river & me! Don't know of any shops selling vinyl except a few 12"'s in HMV Andy's and the one just up from it, Max's, Parrott and that one opposite, all closed about 3 years ago or more. There's never owt on the market and I'm sure Andy's stall on Ely's Saturday market has long gone (could be wrong, got a phobia of Cathederals / cities) However, there's a few decent pubs and lots of top totty about when the sun's out so check the long term weather forcast for those dates.
  4. Came out on Cottilion 7", (but maybe only issues?) bit shorter than the L.P. version
  5. Anacostia , Stafford monster , not seen one , for sale for ages . a very nice bit of 70's magic Simon M
  6. Not if I spot one before you!
  7. Brand New - Thousand Years - Du Vern (& It'll probably take you 1000 years to get one, damn!)
  8. I take it it's not one of the legit 'give aways' that Motown did in the 90's?
  9. For instance I bought Danny Moore - Somebody New on Allrite for £35 from a member on here. Whilst speaking to Brett at Prestatyn he remarked that he'd paid more for his copy in the past. Not too sure, but think he said in the past someone had paid £800 for a copy! I first heard it on that 4 CD box set Sought After Soul and in the notes it says that someone was going to sell a car to get a copy. Mind you it didn't state the value of the car. Anyway getting to the point, have there been any records that when first discovered/played out cost a fortune, but can now be picked up for next to nothing?
  10. Not keen, but OK
  11. ps . Thought you only scaned records over 2k
  12. Strange record, what this bit of disco worth?
  13. Aside, when was BDR first played out? 198*?
  14. The album is worth getting just for his version of Barry's "Could it be magic"!
  15. Simon You’ve always had impeccable taste in music, but Mellow Madness is Shiite. Now when are you gonna sell me Ben Jackson?
  16. Blake Stop now and spend the money on booze, I'll post you back all those tapes you did me 20+ years ago!
