  1. Are there any northern tracks that are not sung in English? Or are any versions in the native tounge played at events abroad? I know there's an Italian version of Long After Tonight Is All Over, and several of the Motown classics sung in Spanish, Italian and German by original Mowotn artists. How about this outing by Rocky Roberts, sort of fits the beat
  2. With all due respect, I think this kind of post is neither pertinent, constructive nor of any real interest to this site, which is: “Soul Source is an online rare and northern soul music magazine” As you are inviting people to reply with their personal comments on Ian Levine i.e. reasons for disliking = negative comments, are you not inducing people to commit libel against him? I for one, don’t want to see another thread about IL If you are IL, or acting on his behalf, take heart in the fact that a lot of people don’t like lots of people on the ‘scene’ A lot of people don’t like me, but I don’t a monkey’s arse!
  3. Would you believe Ain't no big thing Happiness Ain't that enough I cried for you Someday Can't get you out of my mind I don't want to lose her What you gonna do You don't know like I know You (are the star I wish on)
  4. "Little Al" or "Baby Al" was Al McLaurin who, given his name, sounds more like a Scot than a Spaniard.... but the record was actually a minor hit in.... Spain... of all places... much like the Rocky Roberts I mentioned earlier. Funny how they get about, I've got a Greek copy of RR's Durium (Milano) LP with Just Because of You, Got a Thing Going etc on it
  5. Baby Al then Little Al, probably had a few releases as middle-aged Al and pensioner AL! Can't remember seeing either on lists, so is it obscure or collected on other scenes?
  6. Have you heard stuff by Casino Royale on Key-Loc? Very similar sounding. No, any good? Sounds like a James Bond theme tune tribute band!
  7. Thanks Sean. Is it a fortune? How many pesos?
  8. Bought from some muppet who thought it was OK to mail it in a record mailer but without any "stiffeners Still got it and it makes my blood boil every time I look at it.

  15. Ken Not the same as Samantha Jones - That special way?
  16. 4 sounds very British, blue-eyed. Bit of a scouse tint to the accent. Is she surrounded by a ray of sunshine?
  17. Track 3 is Leon Ellis - I just wanna to say I love you - Elf
  18. I posted it before I relinquished the name hippo to the real hippo (Jerry H). I'll try to find it and post it up again
  19. The boots are vinyl, and if you look at the record run out, it is nearly half of the record long (about an inch across). The staggered west coast design are usually on styrene as they were pressed at the Monarch record plant.
